3.0 out of 5 stars Don't listen to the other reviewer..., April 30, 2010

This review is from: Cryogenix (Audio CD)
It's obvious this reviewer is a Depeche Mode fan and probably thinks they are the ultimate in goth electronic. It's true In Strict confidence may have taken influence from Depeche Mode, Front 242, man who HASN'T in the industrial scene? First off this was their first official album I believe, released on the famous German label Zoth Ommog. That right there should be enough to tell you its worth it. Frankly, I don't what the other reviewer is complaining about, I enjoyed this album thoroughly and happily have it in the collection. They would obviously get better on their nezt cd, but for a debut, its good. It's not the nail pounding angst of Wumpscut, nor is it the alternative sounding NIN or the wump wump wump of 90% of the cut and paste stuff to come from Metropolis records these days. The vocals are more gothic nature but the music is nice ethereal dancy EBM that should appeal to fans Velvet Acid Christ sort of crowd. At least they GAVE props to Depeche Mode by doing a cover when there are so many other good bands they could have covered as well. Also, awesome cover art to boot. Check this cd out.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pretty bad, December 25, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Cryogenix (Audio CD)
I heard this at an acquaintance's house with my best friend. Our host really liked this cd, but my friend and I could only wince through most of it. We almost begged to be forgived of our sins at their raping of Depeche Mode's "stripped"...it wasn't even funny in a Laibach kind of way, just very painful. If you like Tyranny era Front 242, you might like this as it's almost a direct clone...I'm not much of a 242 fan myself. While lately ISC seem to be getting better, I can't recommend this mostly monotonous cd to anyone. There's been worse, but not many...
