4.0 out of 5 stars Twiztid show a different side on 'Cryptic Collection 3'

2.0 out of 5 stars Twiztid
Not a very good release. Worst of the Cryptic Collections for sure. To bad the og version of Wrong With Me didn't make it. Twiztid needs to invest in some better beats and production. The Joker is kinda cool but gets old quick. Two stars because 2nd Hand Smoke is on it but seems like that's on every Twiztid special release.

This review is from: Cryptic Collection 3 (Audio CD)
The latest CD from Physcopathic recording artists Twiztid, a collection of rarities and remixes titled Cryptic Collection 3, is a standout from other albums being released on the label. Instead of heading in the same direction with this album as they did with their previous ones, Twiztid attempt to do something completely new. While the rock influences are nowhere to be found this time around, there are hip-hop beats exotic enough for Snoop Dogg to spit on. Most of the disc is made up of original pieces, except for the remixes of old favorites such as "2nd Hand Smoke" and "4 Thoze Of You". Despite "Keep It Movin'" being one of the most lyrically original tracks Twiztid has ever came up with, the most shocking moment on the album is the straight-forward hip-hop take on Steve Miller's chestnut "The Joker". Overall, for fans of previous Twiztid works this could either be a new experience or a huge disappointment. For fans who have not yet experienced Twiztid, this is a good way to introduce them to the outside world. Hopefully others in Physchopathic will follow Twiztid's lead and do something a little more original.

5.0 out of 5 stars NO STOPPING THE HATCHET!!!!, May 31, 2004

Twiztid is the reason I listen to Psychopathic in the first place and Cryptic Collection 3 proves it. It blows the first 2 out of the water and I wanna see Twiztid try to top this one. Remixes include "4 Those of You" from Mirror Mirror, "2nd Hand Smoke" from Mostasteless (the one track on the album I'm not really feeling), "I'm The Only One" from The Green Book, which is called "She Said" on CC3 and is much better than the original (my favorite)and "Wrong With Me", the rest are brand new tracks with appearances by ICP, Blaze & ABK plus the track "Shock & Awe" which is done by Dark Lotus. Add a remake of an old 70's song which is entitled "Joker" and a hidden but hilarious track of Jamie and Paul talking and you got the best Cryptic Collection ever to graced the underground. If you a Juggalo/Juggalette or a hardcore hip-hop/horrorcore fan...BUY THIS CD!!!! MCL! Im Out!

My Favorite Tracks include: Static, Keep It Movin, Listen, She Said Remix & Know Good

ok, at first i was kinda iffy on listening to this cd because of all the remix's cos im not a big remix fan. but i got it anyway cos i like twiztid.....and i was just amazed, it even has more "meaningful" songs like "listen"....not too much of the hatchet stuff ull find on all the other cds. this brings out the real side of twiztid, one of my fav. songs is "know good", its kinda got an old school beat but i love it

a definate should buy, so stop reading this n buy the damn cd

5.0 out of 5 stars My Favorite Cryptic Collection Yet, May 20, 2004

Id say this is the best Twiztid CC yet. I definatly like it better than the first two, although those are great as well. This one just seems to have a more ecclectic mix of music on it than the others. My favorite songs would have to be the awesome cover of Steve Miller's "The Joker", Shock and Awe (a new Lotus track), and Fucmyself. There's also a couple things hidden at the end with Mono and Madrox talkin, but it's not that great. My only complaint is most of the remixes arnt that great. For example, Id much rather listen to the original 2nd Hand Smoke than this one, but oh well. It's a great album none the less, and ya gotta get it to complete you Twiztid collection. Plus, its got an ad for a NEW Twiztid album called "Man, Myth & Mutant" coming out some time in 2005!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Cryptic Collection, May 27, 2004
This review is from: Cryptic Collection 3 (Audio CD)
This is a d*mn good album. It beats both the first CC's easily. It's totally different than the first two...it's a mix of 8 brand new songs and 5 remixes. Most of the beats are pretty good, with a few exceptional ones, like the beats for "Static", "Listen", and "Fucmyself". Twiztid has evolved lyrically, spittin some of its best rhymes on this CD. Overall, "Static" is without a doubt my favorite song..the beat is crazy and so r the lyrics. "Shock & Awe" is probably my second favorite. It features some of the other Psychopathic artists: ICP, ABK, and Blaze...and its f*ckin hilarious. They diss the mainstream and radio and all that gay sh*t. "Joker" is amazing. Twiztid did an excellent job of remaking this song. I downloaded the original and its crazy how much better Twiztid's version is. It's another of my favorites on this album. Also, at the end of the cd is a hidden track of Monoxide and Madrox talkin about making smoking in public legal and some other stuff...and its hilarious..

The only down side of the cd is the collection of remixes. Out of the 5 of them, only one, "She Said", is better than its original. The other 4 remixes are easily beaten by their originals. And the song "Know Good" can be skipped over. Overall, I give the cd a 9 out of 10, which is 4.5 stars and ofcourse I'm roundin up to 5. But this album is great, a 9 outta 10 beats pretty much any mainstream CD's, which usually have 1 or 2 good songs surrounded by a bunch of sh*t. And this CC is one of Twiztid's best works, certainly nuthin compared to their LP's, like "The Green Book" and "Mostasteless", but better than any EP Twiztid has put out, like the 2 other CC's and "Mirror Mirror" (my least favorite Twiztid work).

If you're a fan of anything Psychopathic than you shuld definately get this. If you're all about mainstream artists like Jay-Z and Chingy and Kanye blah blah blah, than you probably won't appreciate this as you should. ..Well keep up the good work Twiztid, and MMFCL to all you juggalos readin this!
...& Im Out Like That.
