5.0 out of 5 stars I'm not that much into Death metal, but...
I think it's such an underrated style of music. This album showed me how wrong I was when I thought that "every death metal stuff was all the same". My introduction to Edge of Sanity was made through this album (yeah I know...shame on me). Every single song on it is great. Like awesome. Like mind blowing. Cryptic gives an interesting look at what Death metal can sound...

1.0 out of 5 stars I'd say no
Unfurtunaly I'd hoped that when Swanö left Edge Of Sanity they'd find another singer and not change their sound...but unfurtunaly they did..and not at all for the better. I'd even say this sucks, but...if they are releasing anything else I'd give them a second chance. The singer isn't bad or anything, it's just the sound..yuck. Sorry guys, been a fan since the...

I think it's such an underrated style of music. This album showed me how wrong I was when I thought that "every death metal stuff was all the same". My introduction to Edge of Sanity was made through this album (yeah I know...shame on me). Every single song on it is great. Like awesome. Like mind blowing. Cryptic gives an interesting look at what Death metal can sound sometimes...and I love that. I then started to get every Edge of Sanity albums, and wow...they made a long road before finally compose Cryptic. Dan Swano is an awesome songwriter, but that's another thing. He made the right choice about suggesting the band to have Karlson to get the vacant spot. The band recovers well from Swano's departure...but too bad they disbanded. Best Death metal band ever. Thanks for everything you made guys!

4.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly good!, July 6, 2000
This review is from: Cryptic (Audio CD)
This is the Best EOS Album I know. While, for me, "CRIMSON", is the worst Death Metal - forget it - music in general - album that collected all the aspects I need to throw an album on the mainstreet, this one is really good. Sure, they got no big innovation but they got fun while they play, and you hear it. This album reminds me of early Entombed or Dismember ( Demon I ) and if you like them too, don't hesitate to buy this album!
