I bought it back in 1998, but still use it today., March 10, 2000
This review is from: Applied Cryptology, Cryptographic Protocols, and Computer Security Models (Proceedings of Symposia in Applied Mathematics, Vol. 29) (Paperback)
Fantastic for Beginners or Advanced Crytography Nuts.
I've never seen such a compilation containing only cryptography, methodology, theory, algorythms...
It contains everything plus alpha that you ever wanted to know.
I recommend this book to anybody interested in either security or even for cryptoanalysis. To fully understand everything, you must have a good mathematical background, but even if you don't understand all of the math, it's written easy enough for the amature, but contains the guts that will interest even the professionals.
You've got to get it!
Agreed, it's been out for some time, but I still recommend it for beginners or even pros who want to brush up on things long forgotten!
Read this first, then buy new books. I don't think there will ever be another book covering so much ground!

This review is from: Applied Cryptology, Cryptographic Protocols, and Computer Security Models (Proceedings of Symposia in Applied Mathematics, Vol. 29) (Paperback)
This book is one of the DDJ Essential Books on Cryptography CD-ROM. But I think this book seems to be too old for now, years of 2000.
