3.0 out of 5 stars Wait for 2 weeks to see if you're really non-allergic
This product works as claimed. I was very surprised that it controlled body odour so well. After many years of using the regular anti perspirant, I was insecure to change to another form. However, this has proved that mineral salts is the natural alternative. It even keeps your underarms dry which sometimes my antiperspirant didn't.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a surprise!, October 17, 2006
I have tried many deodorants in my life. Some have worked, others failed big time. I have done extensive research on the different ingedients in deodorants and was shocked. I was poisoning myself daily each time I used my deodorant. So I decided to try something natural. At first I thought there was no way a deodorant made of salts could out perform deodorant made from toxins and aluminum. BOY WAS I WRONG! Just because you can't see a whole bunch of deodorant piled under your arms, doesn't mean it's not working. I used the crystal stick afraid that it would give up on me in a hour or so. Come to find out, it lasted ALL day. You still sweat a little but there is NO SMELL. I am now a beleiver of crystal deodorant products. I urge anyone to please give it a try. If you are lazy,(like most of us are)I would go for the roll-on or the spray. The slightly higher price can be justified with a longer lasting product. Most importantly though, a more healthier life. I'm sure you will make the right decision.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great and Easy to use, April 6, 2007
By
No need to wet it just rub it under your damp arms after you shower. Results are good at first but after a few weeks of use you will have no oder. Under arm stains are a thing of the past too. No yellow marks on your white or light color shirts either.

No need to buy 4 as one will last about a year unless your looking for stocking stuffers.

However, this has proved that mineral salts is the natural alternative. It even keeps your underarms dry which sometimes my antiperspirant didn't.

All was fine until the second week when I noticed red welts on my armpits. It was itchy but I ignored it. My regimen is twice a day after shower. The red welt persists though not very serious. I don't wanna go back to antiperspirants, so I'll just stick with this. If it gets any worse, I'll probably have to stop using it. Meanwhile I've ordered Yodora as a fall back. I hate to change because it worked so great. Pity that I am allergic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Product, April 2, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have been trying to find an "aluminum-free" deodorant the works for the last two years--I tried Tom's of Maine and another lavender type but they just could not keep up. I had my doubts about Crystal Body Stick, but I decided to give it a try and bought the 4 pack. I gave it to a few ladies in the office--we all report 100% no odor or residue. It's a 10--we are now buying for sisters, mothers, and friends--Excellent product!

3.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't work as well as the roll-on, August 16, 2007

This doesn't work as well as the roll-on Crystal Body 30063 Crystal Body Deodorant, 2.25-Ounce Roll-Ons in 3-Count Packages (Pack of 2) version.

You have to run this solid crystal stick under water each time before applying it and over time, it starts shedding crystal dust out the bottom, leaving a mess on your shelf.

The roll-on version has the water built in so it not only allows for a better application without having to run it under the tap, but also doesn't shed any weird dust. It works even better for me because I get a better application.

3.0 out of 5 stars I still smell....., September 20, 2007
By
A Pilgrim (San Jose, Ca United States) - See all my reviews
To an extent, this hunk of mineral salt and alum does the trick. But it has some drawbacks that limit its usefulness at times.

Pro:
*It kills the bacteria in you armpits which create odor.
*It doesn't leave a tacky or gooey residue on your skin.
*It doesn't have a fragrance.
*It doesn't contain any aluminum or other chemicals that may be harmful.
*It doesn't clog up your pores.
*The stick can last a very long time, possibly up to a year, which is great if you're on a budget.

Con:
*I still smell. It may kill odor causing bacteria but it doesn't seem last longer than a full day. It also doesn't kill the odor causing bacteria that grow in the sweat on your shirt. So your armpits may not smell, but the sweat on shirt will.
*It's hard to gauge how much of crystal rubs off on you, so you may end up not applying enough.
*It has no fragrance, which is a plus sometimes, but is also a liability when that sweat on your shirt smells.
*You need water to apply it.
*Your armpits have to be clean when you apply it or it won't work.
*If you cut yourself shaving or trimming you armpits, application of the product will burn intensely, after all, it is salt.

Bottom line: For a "natural" deodorant this product is great, but you are probably going to smell at times, and its particular quirks require some sacrifices in convenience. But it if you want a chemical free alternative this might do it. But I would recommend trying Aromacreme Deodorant by LUSH as a natural alternative as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Twist On Stick Always Breaks, October 30, 2011
This review is from: Crystal Body Stick Deodorant, 4.25-Ounce Stick (Pack of 4) (Health and Beauty)
The deodorant stick keeps you from smelling and lasts a very long time. The little twist knob at the bottom always strips, leaving me to cut the hard plastic case away from the stick. Then it is usually dropped a few times and cracks into shards. Poor design, great deodorant.

3.0 out of 5 stars Switched to Tom's..., May 25, 2010
This review is from: Crystal Body Stick Deodorant, 4.25-Ounce Stick (Pack of 4) (Health and Beauty)
I used this for about 6-7 months (still have some left) but decided to try Tom's after the casing broke in the shower. The Crystal worked for me but only lasts about 12 hours, less if I'm cleaning house, exercising, etc. The biggest problem for me though was that this is quite painful to apply after shaving and the stick can be scratchy at time which makes it really uncomfortable to apply. Getting it wet can also be quite a bother. I prefer tom's roll on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't Live Without It, October 22, 2009
This review is from: Crystal Body Stick Deodorant, 4.25-Ounce Stick (Pack of 4) (Health and Beauty)
This is a great product that has saved me a ton of money. Due to a neurological condition I sweat a lot and was always embarrassed at how quickly after a shower I no longer smelled or felt clean. Then I started using Crystal deodorant and things got much better. As long as you put it on CLEAN underarms, it works beautifully. It seems to keep bacteria from ever getting started. After a weekend of camping in very hot weather without reapplication, I still smelled good, which is amazing considering how profusely I sweat. I tried this after reading an article in a magazine where a staff member tried different deodorants under each arm and didn't shower for days. She was amazed at how well Crystal worked so I decided to give it a try since I had been spending quite a bit trying different products and often having to use 2 products at once.

I typically do not run it under water - I just use it the moment I get out of the shower and my underarms are wet enough to make it work. Since the product only works on clean underarms this shouldn't be a problem. I would recommend only sprinkling it with water (not running it under the tap) with your hand. If you don't wet it by holding it under the faucet, the "rock" version lasts a very long time. Last time I bought a multi-pack I ended up giving the others to friends to try.

I live in Virginia which is extremely hot and humid so during the summer I will sometimes use a spray on antiperspirant on top of this. It's really just for the scent of the product - I've never felt I NEEDED a 2nd product, I just like to be doubly sure when it's 99 degrees out with 80% humidity. When you get into close quarters with others after being in the heat, it's nice if there is a fragrance just in case!

I often recommend Crystal deodorant and have gotten quite a few friends and family members using it. So far those that have tried it have loved it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Results Differ - Hair May Make a Difference, July 28, 2009
By

This review is from: Crystal Body Stick Deodorant, 4.25-Ounce Stick (Pack of 4) (Health and Beauty)
My mother, who has a very sensitive nose, recommended Crystal as it doesn't yellow white shirts. I tried it for several weeks, and found that it didn't work for me - after 12 hours I had B.O. (I'm guessing that the presence of underarm hair (being male) made a difference.) I went back to regular deoderant, and replacing white shirts when they turn yellow. It was worth trying.
