5.0 out of 5 stars One Of The Best Children's Books I Have Read In Years
This is one of the best children's books I have read in years. Dan Millman really reaches the heart of his readers with his caring and creativity. It has taught my son to apprecate what he has and teaches me and my son about one of the most important sayings - Kindness begets kindness.

2.0 out of 5 stars Bizarre illustrations
As in my review for the other book in this series, unfortunately the illustrations are bizarre. They remind me of a public health brochure. They just don't seem to match the style of the story. It was a disappointment.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable for all, December 19, 2000

This review is from: Quest for the Crystal Castle ( A Peaceful Warrior Children's Book ) (Hardcover)
It's a nice morality tale that doesn't over-preach or hide the story itself underneath the lessons to be learned. The story is also a nice change from the usual kids' morality fare.

5.0 out of 5 stars Written for children, but even adults can learn from it, September 1, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Dan Millman has created an incredible journey of personal growth and discovery in the Quest for the Crystal Castle.
I won't ruin the ending for you, but I believe this, along with it's prequel, The Secret of the Peaceful Warrior, should be required reading for children and even adults.
Millman takes profound lessons of compassion, courage and growth, and writes them out in such a way that even a small child could understand them. Coupled with the gorgeous illustrations by T. Taylor Bruce, it is a joy to read, no matter how old you are.
Your kids will love it, and you might learn even more from it than they do at first.
With so many children's books these days seeming to water everything down to the point of sugary mush, it's refreshing to see a compelling story with a moral lesson that you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who disagrees with.
