An Entertaining and Memorable Read,
By Jill E. Smith "Writer - Visit me at www.jille... (Southeastern Lower, MI United States) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: The Crystal Cavern (Re-Issued as Hidden Motive) (Paperback)
The Crystal Cavern by author Hannah Alexander is a memorable, page-turning story. Join Sable Chamberlin and Paul Murphy on a quest to unravel the secrets of the caves beneath Sable's home. What mystery did her grandfather stumble upon before his untimely death? Will they be able to find out in time, or will they die trying? In Agatha Christie tradition, the story finds Sable and Paul trapped in a house with a suspicious group of strangers, many with their own set of secrets. Someone is sabotaging Sable and Paul's efforts to get to the bottom of the mystery, bringing them to the brink of disaster. Will they escape this villain's clutches, before it is too late?I found The Crystal Cavern to be an enjoyable read, with characters that stayed with me long after the story ended. Hannah Alexander knows how to weave an intriguing tale. You won't be disappointed.

A Page Turner,
By Nike Chillemi (NYC metro coastal area) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hidden Motive (Mass Market Paperback)
This book has action, suspense, romance, plot twists and turns, and quite a few red herrings.
Dr. Sable Chamberlain's grandfather has been murdered and now someone's made an attempt on her life. As Sable is literally running for her life she smacks right into Paul Miur[hy, an EMS worker at her hospital. They soon discover there are more dead bodies and they're both being framed for murder. Sable and Paul try to get off the beaten path and take a bus to Sable's family home in the Ozark Mountains. The winding roads become too treacherous for the bus in the ice storm of the century a short distance from Sable's home, so she reluctantly offers the other passengers shelter. Soon an attempt is made on Paul's life when he's out chopping wood and a few of the bus passengers turn up dead. It's apparent Sable and Paul can only trust each other. This is a page turner and a suspenseful read.

Great Romantic Suspense,
This review is from: Hidden Motive (Mass Market Paperback)
Sable Chamberlain is in trouble. Someone killed her grandfather and a couple of attempts have been made on her own life. Now Sable and her friend, Paul Murphy, are on the way to her family home, deep in the Ozark Mountains. The Greyhound bus they are riding becomes stranded on icy roads a short distance from the old family farmhouse, and Sable is forced to offer the other passengers shelter. As strange things begin to happen, it appears they are sheltering an enemy, one who wants Sable dead.
Riviting suspense, and plenty of action. Fans of Hannah Alexander won't want to miss this exciting story of love and murder set in the beautiful Ozarks. Recommended.

Hidden Motive is a great book. It is full of mystery, suspense, action and surprises. It is a page-turner !!! I didn't give it 5 Stars because, in my opinion, this book lacked romance a bit!

Didn't find this book as compelling as I'd hoped. A new author for me,so I'll try another one of their books. This book just didn't keep my attention as I'd hoped. It had a good plot, but just didn't deliver as I'd hoped.
