Book Description

December 31, 2000
On Tareth, the small country of Dramon is in the throes of a rebellion. When Sianna DiSanti is called home from the semi-religious order where her father has hidden her since birth, she is eager to know her estranged father and become part of a loving family. His plan to use her as a marriage pawn in his quest for power devastates her. While seeking comfort in the garden, she is mistaken for her half-sister and abducted by her father's enemies. Kyne Cathor lusts for vengeance against DiSanti, the man who murdered his brother and threw Dramon into turmoil. To draw DiSanti into the open and restore the country to peace, Kyne uses Sianna as bait. Though she proclaims her innocence, Kyne believes she might be pregnant with his brother's child. To keep her half-sister safe and protect herself, Sianna conceals her true identity. Once at the rebel stronghold, Sianna's gentle, innocent, nature and heroic actions fuel Kyne's growing attraction to a woman he can never have and puts them both in jeopardy.

About the Author

Elysa Hendricks resides in Northern Illinois, but her imagination allows her to visit 1870's Texas, alternate universes and other planets. A voracious reader, she began writing in the early 90's. She helped found both the Windy City and the Futuristic, Fantasy and Paranormal chapters of RWA.

More About the Author

After trying her hand at a variety of careers, insurance underwriter, video storeowner, home day care and cleaning houses, Elysa Hendricks, a longtime reader sat down to write a short contemporary novel. When her heroine turned out to be a winged, telepathic alien, Elysa decided she enjoyed writing stories set in different places and times.

While living in north east Illinois she helped found the Windy City Chapter and the Futuristic, Fantasy & Paranormal Chapters of Romance Writers of America and taught workshops on writing at writer's conferences and at local community colleges. Recently relocated to central Ohio she's happy to be part of the COFW family.

Someday she dreams of writing on a laptop while sitting on a tropical beach. In the meantime she keeps warms during Ohio's chilly winters by creating sizzling love scenes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Fantasy Romance!, August 31, 2002
This review is from: Crystal Moon (Paperback)
I thoroughly enjoyed this exciting fantasy sword and scorery romance. The hero, Kyne is to die for, and the heroine, Sianna, nearly does.

There is a nice balance between romance, action and fantasy. It's a real page turner that'll keep you up all night.

Elysa Hendricks is an author to read!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Hidden Gem, March 14, 2010
This review is from: Crystal Moon (Paperback)
It's a pity that not a lot of people know of this book or even the author. It reads like a Julie Garwood romance plus the fantasy.

The heroine Sianna is one of those pure of heart healer types whose goodness is demonstrated in her every action which leads to winning people over. She has to maintain a lie to her captors that she is her sister in order to preserve her and her sister's life; this is a cause of tension in the novel when they believe her to be a murderer and want to treat her as such. The love between Sianna and Kyne is poignant because she has never had anybody love her and Kyne is disgusted with his attraction to his enemy. It makes for some very frustrating moments as well as some bittersweet ones. However, through Sianna's emphatic abilities readers will understand the motivations behind their actions and feelings. There are one or two moments of cheesiness that comes into play but one has to just accept it. In one scene, Kyne doesn't know how to do something and so Sianna says, "Believe." Yep, I had to make a huge eye roll at that.

Still, this book has its merits. Usually books of this sort are either heavy on the plot and light on the romance or heavy romance but no plot. Crystal moon is well-balanced in that arena with a fully fleshed out plot and a romance that grows believably.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fantasy fun, June 25, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
There is no challenge in understanding this novel or the other two that are part of the series, however, it was fun and I would read them again just to escape to a nicely formed parallel universe created.
