Who would have thought that the saving of a little boy at a pool would lead to an adventure in Fairyland and the Kingdom of the Leprechauns? A sleepover at Karina's Grammy's and Popi's house, in a bedroom filled with crystals, turned into an adventure at a crystal palace and a confrontation with a dangerous sea serpent. Karina, Katie, and Emily Jean entered these worlds through the lead of Grammy's tooth fairy named Angela. They were needed to find the missing baby fairy prince. Intelligence, insight, and imagination led these girls to the rescue and the discovery of the truth: Children are precious to their parents, not matter how old they are, whether in Fairyland or everyday life. Exciting and fanciful…a child’s vision of Fairyland through the artistry of Karina, the nine-year-old granddaughter of author Grammy Hauser.
Michele Hauser was a teacher for 30 years, in kindergarten through eighth grade, reading thousands of books to children over the years. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Education (with emphasis on Reading and Writing), is a UCLA Writing Project Fellow, a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators, and a member of California Readers, an organization that strives to connect children with authors through classroom presentations. As a child, Michele received a letter from her tooth fairy, Angela, explaining that she lived in the knothole in the tree in the back yard. Thus began her intrigue with fairy folk. The tooth fairy Angela is the main fairy for her first book,THE CRYSTAL PALACE: RESCUE OF THE BABY FAIRY PRINCE. Michele's nine-year-old granddaughter Karina is the illustrator. Her childlike drawings add an authenticity to this and the second book in the series, THE CRYSTAL PALACE II: REBELLION IN FAIRYLAND. THE CRYSTAL PALACE III: THE FAIRY WARS is in progress. Michele conducts interactive creative writing/illustrating workshops for elementary classrooms and has created discussion questions, activity leaflets, readers' theater scripts, and coloring pages to go along with the book.
