The case is typical of the generic snap on cases. The back part is not what is pictured though. Like all the generics I've had in the past for other phones it has that raised squarish hole to put the removable belt clip swivel. Though this case doesn't come with that whole setup. Would be nicer if it was the clean back pictured, but that's mostly just an aesthetic issue. One nice enhancement is an angled cutout on the right side to make it easier to separate. Usually they are pretty difficult to separate as you try to wedge your fingernail inbetween the halves. This helps the process along. The cutouts are well placed and the plastic is slightly thinner than ones I've had on other phones. For $8 you can't go wrong. I don't like silicone for full screen phones as the edges either need to wraparound and have more coverage to be secure or it looks just like this case and the edges are a bit floppy and can get caught in things and just be annoying. If I were keeping the Hero (returning it when the Moment comes out), I would eventually upgrade to the Seidio Innocase or Snap case as they tend to be even thinner and have a holster to match up with it since I sometimes need it clipped to my pants.

Too long a review for a $7 product that does the trick at a good price. You might able to find it on ebay for a dollar or so cheaper. I highly doubt the brand name matters.

I'm not going to come on here and say that this thing is a piece... but you get what you pay for. The one I got, didn't fit all that well. It snapped on my phone and about half the seam was good, but the seam along the bottom was not so great. Like someone else has said, the "rubberized" finish started flaking the day I got it. This may be something that all rubberized cases do, but its very unattractive.

I accidentally broke mine while I was trying to pry it off (its hard to get off... TWSS).

BUT, if you want something cheap for the $3.00 (plus shipping remember), its probably worth it. I just ordered a non-rubberized case from a different site for $8 w/ free shipping, but that may not be any better quality.

Its a crap shoot really.

The holster never seemed to let go when I wanted it to, and once, when I was walking on the beach, I bent at my waist and dislodged the phone into the Pacific Ocean. Fortunately, the phone recovered. Within the next week, the holster broke.

Pros
--------

1) sleek look and nice material - so nice that I had one person ask me if I was going to get a case for my new phone - had to tell them the case was already on it!

2) All the buttons, lights, ports etc are readily accessible/visible

3) Cheap as dirt

4) Tight fit, and the case doesn't come off easily

5) Isn't bulky - I still easily slip it in/out of my pants pocket.

6) The front side comes up off the phone enough that it really helps protect the screen against scratching

Cons
--------

1) The case is maybe excessively hard to get off... if you need to get the memory card out of your HTC Hero you better have some keys or something else available to pry the case off. It's difficult! I worry that if I do it too many times the case won't continue to latch tight enough.

2) The case has a notch that makes it easier to get the case off... the notch isn't particularly attractive looking (though doesn't ruin the overall look)


I highly recommend this case. For the price and value I'd re-buy this case every 6 months if I had to, but I think it'll last pretty well.

I bought this case and the shipment came very quickly. However, the case I received did not fit my phone very well. I called customer service and they said that I could keep the old case and ship me a replacement free of charge. I was surprised. Great customer service.

Case does the job but is not of the best quality....I can see the lighter plastic under the black skin on certain spots where the seam connects. For the money, a fair value.

This is a very nice case, especially for the money. It fits snugly and has a very nice rubber texture that feels similar to what the phone has on it. It doesn't impede access to the rocker buttons or either the usb or head phone jack, and the slight lip across the face helps prevent inadvertent end button presses while the phone is in my pocket. It does add a small amount of bulk to the phone, but this should be obvious as any case will do so. In short, don't waste your money on more expensive versions available at the sprint store or best buy, I can't see any reason why someone just looking for a simple case to prevent scuffs and scratches would not be happy with this one.

Installed this 3 weeks ago and I've not had any problems, no scratches etc. It appears to work well.

Received this case and got exactly what i expected. The case fits the phone very well and does not restrict access to any of the buttons on the phone. Case feels comfortable in hand and does not make the phone much more bulky. overall i would recommend this as a buy. Only problem is you pay almost as much as the case to ship the item to you.

This case is junk. The plastic case is poorly formed. One side of the case does not meet properly and will not close. It is unusable.
