"Likebooks" is exactly right. The plot information on the book jacket is clearly for some other book. Nothing in that promo happens in "Crystal Skull Murders," so ignore it all. I can't imagine how the publisher and the author let this happen. Doesn't anyone proofread these things? Instead the plot involves the killing of a homeless person in Austin, Tex., and the arson of a bar. The crystal skull comes in much later. The book has a lot of Texas "characters," some of whom are not easy to keep apart. The writing is O.K., but the plot never really engaged me. In general, if you're looking for a good mystery, look somewhere else.

The description says a client hired Tony to find a priceless map hidden in his fathers den. In reality a client hired him to investigate a FIRE that the client doesn't think a wino set, no where did I find that the client wanted Tony to look for map! I read 1/3 of the book and gave up. It just made no sense, there was a fire, a missing pawn ticket and a early murder. None of this evern closely resemble the books description. It wasn't so much that the book was boring although it was very slow to build. I honestly thought they goofed and put the wrong description on the book jacket/amazon description.
