This is a great book! I purchased it on a whim about a year ago and have found it extremely useful. It's very well illustrated, easy to reference, has great photos, and I like how they explain both the healing properties of the crystals and how to use them in daily life. You can look up info on individual crystals/gemstones, by type of healing needed, by astrological sign, placement types for healings (e.g. to wear it vs. place next to bed), etc. All the examples are very current and can be applied immediately to any situation. Every time I read it I find more to enjoy about it and learn. Before this book I wasn't that in to crystals, but its been so easy to get in to that I find myself more and more intrigued with the depth of the knowledge this book offers. I would definitely recommend it!

I find the Crystal User's Handbook to be more of an introductory book to crystals and their uses. It was one of the first crystal books I purchased when I became interested in the uses and properties of crystals.
Overall the book is divided up into sections, crystals for stress relief, relaxation, physical well-being, immune system, etc. In each section there is a basic list of stones/crystals that would be helpful.
I did find interesting in the Physical Well-Being section, it shows on figures which areas are most commonly affected due to your Zodiac sign.
The book also has a brief introduction to the chakras, and states what each chakra does or represents.
There are also sections that state which crystals help with your home, workplace, love, and protection. Also a nice little section about the different ways one can cleanse and care for their crystals.
Lastly there is a section about which crystals are beneficial to a persons' zodiac sign, a basic directory for crystals and what ailments they help, and lastly a brief Gemstone and Crystal directory.
If you are wanting a book that goes more into what exactly each crystal and gemstone are I would not recommend this book. If you are wanting a book that starts you off into learning about working with crystals and gemstones; what they can be used for, how to care for them, etc. then this book is a great start.

a friend of mine had this book. that is why i knew i wanted it. it is a great book. it talks about crystal energies,meaning,scrying. it also touches on your aura and your chakras.lots and lots of pictures
