5.0 out of 5 stars This book is a must read for anyone spiritually minded.
I found this book to be more than a guide to crystal gazing. It was a warning for those who do not take things of a spiritual nature seriously. And a guide and tease in that it made you want to go deeper into your own spiritualness, but explained that you would have to search farther as well as develop or evolve into a higher place to receive the answers. This will...

2.0 out of 5 stars Over-Hyped, Under-Delivers, Will Leave You Disappointed
***THIS BOOK WILL DISAPPOINT YOU - HERE'S WHY***

I've been a real practicing clairvoyant for a while now. And I was hoping to find some useful tips, or insights that could improve my discipline. Instead, I got a short, over-hyped book that was lacking BIG TIME in the "useful advice" category.

I genuinely did go into this with an open mind. And I...

5.0 out of 5 stars The Crystal as Metaphor for the Soul!, October 24, 2005
By
Achad writes for two audiences, the exoteric occult dabbler that wants to scry and the esoteric mystic who is gazing more deeply than into an orb of stone. It is a treatise on spiritual growth and finding out who you really are - whether you do it in meditation with your legs crossed or by staring at a crystal, the results are the same for the student of truth. Fascinating!

And I was very let down by this book, because it had the same extremely frustrating flaw that almost all books on this subject have.

The author, whoever they are (some sketchy magician who never reveals himself), spent 99% of the space writing about everything *EXCEPT* for how to actually use clairvoyance. For example, they spent almost the ENTIRE BOOK talking about how to bless your crystal... how to treat it... how to protect it... superstitious little rituals for doing whatever nonsense... but guess what!

NEWSFLASH: a crystal is NOT EVEN NECESSARY for clairvoyance, it's just a focal tool

So when a book promises to teach you how to be psychically clairvoyant, and then only gives maybe 3 pages on actual practical clairvoyant instruction out of 100 pages- THAT'S A BIG PROBLEM!

That's like going to medical school and spending only a couple days practicing surgery. What else did you do the whole time? Study the history of medicine? That may be intellectually interesting, but that doesn't make you any good at doing surgery.

A good book on clairvoyance will leave out the intellectual trivia, and give you a wide range of mental exercises, drills, and meditations, instead. This is the ONLY WAY to develop powerful second sight and open your third eye. Doing little "blessings" and trite rituals WILL DO NOTHING for you.

If you get this book (which I advise against), you will still be a novice after reading it. It's no surprise most "magicians" like it- because it's big on useless theory and rhetorical ritual, and short on real practice, like just about the entire field of magick.

I would ignore the "rave reviews" and "5 stars" others give this. I guarantee those people are not clairvoyant, and just enjoy the warm feelings they get from holding a book on the topic.

Find some other guide for helping you develop clairvoyance. Because this thing is markedly old school and lacking substance.
