More About the Author

I've been married for over forty years to a terrific man who puts up with the idiosyncrasies of life with a writer. We raised two really great kids who are now wonderful adults who've produced six grandchildren for us. ALL perfect, of course!

I've concluded my long-running Kensington Aphrodisia erotic paranormal romance series, Wolf Tales (which includes the Sexy Beast anthologies I-VIII) and the erotic Dream Catchers series, as well as The DemonSlayers series from Kensington Zebra. My latest series which began under the Aphrodisia imprint is called Spirit Wild. This one picks up on the lives of the second generation of Chanku shapeshifters, beginning with Lily Cheval's story in DARK WOLF. Kensington decided not to continue with the stories, so I am publishing them independently with Beyond The Page Publishing, an assisted self-publishing company. My first book, Dark Spirit, released in early January 2014. The final Kensington title, Dark Moon, released January 28, and my latest indie offering, Dark Refuge, released May 12, 2014.

I've also just signed with St. Martin's Press to write a sexy contemporary romance series with just a bit of suspense. The first of these stories--the novella TANGLED in the HOT ALPHAS anthology with Lora Leigh, will release sometime May 19, 2015. The first two novels are INTIMATE, scheduled for a December 2015 release, and REDEMPTION, coming in January 2016. The third story release date has not yet been scheduled.

I cant believe that this series is over!!!!

I loved it so much that is hard to think that I wont get to read more about the characters that blew my mind, I became quite attached to them in such a short time, that I want to keep reading and reading about them.

Talon and Willow's story is so cute and I had a chuckle or two due to Willows inocence and mischives.

Talon is a millenia old Virgin Schollar (talk about self control lol) that seeks to know everything that is to know about everything.

Willow is a cute swap gas/wisp/conciense/woman thats been a constant through the series a very helpfull and endering side kick to all our heroes. I remember that on my first review I said that I wished Willow had a happy ending, guess what? she got it!!!!!!

loved this book, the plot is amazing and i was shocked quite a few times by the twists and turns of it.

Kate Douglad did it again, with the last installment of this amazing series; she blew my mind, she gave me what i was hoping for and still left me wishing for more

Crystalfire by Kate Douglas
Paranormal Romance -April 3rd, 2012
4 stars

CrystalFire is the forth full length novel in the author's Demon Slayers Futuristic series about men from an alternate world who hunt demons. These demons have invaded earth and they use their special swords to kill and protect. While it is not necessary to have read the prior book, many previous characters reappear particularly Eddy, the heroine from the first book DemonFire.

In CrystalFire, the handsome scholar and reluctant warrior Taron is on a hunt to find a powerful demon who is intent on taking his friend, Dax's power and using it for evil purposes. He is accompanied by a lovely sprite named Willow who has been transformed into a human sized woman - a beautiful and sensual woman that Taron can't stop thinking of! Willow has always had a crush on Taron and now she finally has the opportunity to seduce him... Taron wants Willow badly but a terrible prophecy he learned from his youth warns that if he ever falls in love he will experience unendurable pain, which makes him wary of love. But Toren finally realizes that Willow may be worth it all.

This was an amusing story. I liked that Eddy and Dax play prominent roles but my favorite sections were the grumpy sword that Taron carries named CrystalFire. The sword has a stubborn streak and is decidedly unfriendly but in a very funny way. I also liked that while Taron is intelligent and brave he doesn't have the cocky self confidence that makes some alpha heroes a bit overbearing. Instead I found his doubts very endearing especially as he tries to fight the full frontal temptation of Willow who wants him at all costs. But once Taron decides to love, there is no holding back his devotion. Willow was a very lucky sprite!

Crystalfire is the first novel by Kate Douglas that I have read and despite it being a part of a series I found it extremely easy to keep up with the storyline. Crystalfire had everything a reader could want - a sense of humor, suspense, and most importantly, a cast of characters who cared about one another deeply, forming a family of sorts. The parts where Bumper was speaking to Willow and vice versa were down right hysterical. One of the reasons I had no problem keeping up with the storyline is that the author included plot points from the previous books. My favorite part of Crystalfire was how the relationship between Willow and Taron progressed. I was pleased with how the book ended and I have every intention of reading the other books in this series. I have no doubt they will be as enjoyable to read as Crystalfire was.

So first we have Taron who is a scholar... over 1,000 years old and a virgin (by choice he is celibate). Taron has been fighting the demon war by staying in Lemuria and debating the council and such but now that is no longer needed he has agree to help train the Paladins (the freed slaves). Taron is like all Lemurian men tall, lean, long hair, muscular and gorgeous. He has Blood red hair past his butt and bright green eyes, he has a soft heart and is more of a thinker.

Okay so now we have Willow. I just LOVE willow's character! Willow started as swamp gas (Only Kate I swear!) then became Dax's help to fight the demon king and was a 2 inch sprite or wisp o'the will hence the name Willow. Then poor willow gets eaten by the demon king, but slipped her consciousnesses into the dog "Bumper" before she was totally lost.:::Deep breath:::. So she had been for all intents and purposes living in the dog. Now with a little magic ... Willow is a W O M A N and sexy one. She is not afraid to go after what she wants and that is Taron.

Willow pushes Taron to accept his inner beast whilst trying to save the world...

Paranormal romance fans if you have not picked up this series you are missing out! This series has it all romance, adventure, colorful characters, witty banter, strong women and sexy warriors. I read an interview somewhere where Kate said she got the idea for this series from a Crystal/Gem shop on Mount Shasta and there you have Kate in a nutshell. Kate Walks into a store looking at crystals and gems and walks out thinking about how crystal can kill demons and eventually we get Lemurians living in Mount Shasta fighting said demons. Remarkable!

I really loved this series and I am sad to see it wrap up but it was a fun and sexy expedition! Pick-up the first three if you have not read them yet in a eBook bundle!!!

Of Coarse it's 5 Stars!It's Kate!!!
Recommended for Paranormal romance fans.
