It is a great movie for those of us who cherish & love our families. I would recommend it to those who like movies that take place in the old Mexico and can understand the language well, otherwise you may miss some of the meanings

This is the 1941 version of the film. It was directed by Juan Bustillo Oro and stars Sara García and Fernando Soler. The later (color) version of the film was released in 1969 and was directed by Julián Soler, the brother of Fernando Soler who played the role of the father in both films of this name. The 1969 version is currently (January 2012) on youtube in parts. The black and white 1941 version is not currently shown on youtube. Neither, as far as I know, is available with subtitles. The 1941 version merits frame by frame restoration and titles in English and French. |
