I ordered this thing awhile back and to my surprise the humidor actually looks a lot better in person! The construction is wonderful. This humidor is very well put together. Construction on a humidor is very import because you want your humidor's lid to close properly so that no outside air can get in, and this humidor (especially after you season it) the lid closes like a suction. The bottom drawer actually holds more than I thought. I have three different lighters, three packs of matches, and some other random things in there and I still have room. The humidity in this humidor for me has stayed perfect with proper up keep. The only thing wrong with this is the analog hydrometer.... but if you know anything about hydrometers then you know that the analog ones suck anyways and will eventually crap out on you, so buy a digital hydrometer when you buy this humidor or any humidor with an analog hydrometer for that matter. But still, the analog hydrometer on the front still gives great visual appeal and it provides more elegance to the humidor. This is a beautiful well crafted humidor that I highly recommend. Worth the money!!

This is a great buy for the money. Very classic look. And it actually looks better than the pictures. Nice gauge on the front (it's very exact). This is perfect for your home or office. Nice handles allow you to take it anywhere with ease and you get a "key" for the front that is gold and has fringe on it, adding to the beauty. It has a small upper section that I wish had better handles for removing, but don't let that stop you from buying one. Well worth the cost. Make sure you "season" it for a couple of weeks prior to using it. It has high end Spanish Cedar inside that will suck your cigars dry. So buy some "BO'VEDA" for seasoning (use RH level #84 for seasoning) and don't open it for a few weeks. This will get your humidor seasoned, then put your cigars in and watch the gauge. Everyone is different, but I keep my cigars at 71-75% humidity. You can find the season packets on Amazon or visit : BovedaDirect.com/retailers for where to buy it.

The other reviews are not kidding when they say this Humidor looks even better in person then the photos. The black and wood finish top is exquisite. The top boarder on mine shows more wood grains then the photo which looks very good. It came in the mail with no damage at all and well protected in the box. This is a huge step up from my $30 small box humidor and I was surprised at how large this humidor really is. The storage under is a great feature for cutters and lighters. The only thing I wash was better is the lock. The key will not stay in the lock unless you are holding it but it does function correctly. You don't need a glass-top when you have the hygrometer on the outside. The black color makes it stand out from the other brown humidors. At a price of $150 its not cheap but way less then buying it from the cigar store. 5 Stars all the way! Highly recommend it. Click "yes" this review was helpful, Thanks!

Great Humidor. I am a function over form guy, and this humidor looks better in real-life than the pics. So if you're into style, this art deco look should make you happy. People will be awed by the mulit-layer laquer finish.
Most importantly, however, is that it holds humidity levels like it's no body's business. If you have a good humidifier (I took out the green florist sponge out of the humidifier that came with it and put a stocking filled with humidity beads) It will hold the humidity level dead-on for weeks, or as long as your humidification system allows. Don't get me wrong, the green florist sponge worked well also, but I had to add PG solution every so often, and had to guess, since PG can over-humidify if you add too much - contrary to what Xikar or other manufacturers will tell you.
Even the much maligned analog hygrometer on this humidor is pretty accurate and looks great, although I use a digital one on the inside just to be safe.
At first I was hesitant to get this, because it's made in China, but I am a convert.
It's heavy. I haven't weighed it, but I would guess it's about 25 lbs or so. We're not buying cold cuts, but weight is an indication of quality. - like slamming the door of a Mercedes to see the sound it makes.
The only reason, I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is that the top tray is slighltly slanted - about an 1/8 inch. I know that it doesn't sound like much, but it is noticable and shows a lack of attention to detail. Also, the bottom divider doesn't fit snuggly because one of the plastic/rubber stick-ons to the edges was loose. I had called Cuban Crafters for a replacement sticker weeks ago, and they are still "out of stock" on this minor item.

Looks much much nicer than in the pics.
Holds well over 125 if you take e trays out.
Nice heavy feel, great materials, been using it for over a year now and have no complaints at all!

The retail price of this humidor from the manufacturer is $389.99 and at that price, it's an even value. Dos Caballos' price of $109 (as of 9/7/11) makes this humidor the best bang for your buck (in my humble opinion).

The craftsmanship is superb, the ebony wood is polished to a super piano-like finish, the maple inlays are well put together. The manufacturer claims 12 coats of lacquer and I'm inclined to believe them.

I have it curing right now and in Portland, Oregon the humidity is already showing just a touch above 70, but I have yet to test the accuracy of the hydrometer. I will update once I test with my digital hydrometer.

It's very spacious inside and the cedar, as always, smells nice. You get two keys to lock the top lid. The hinges are smooth and the open/closing action is very nice. It looks to be creating a VERY nice seal. The bottom tray is nice for storing your cutters, lighters and other accessories.

Over all, a very nice buy.
