5.0 out of 5 stars An insightfully co-authored historical documentation of Cuba's revolutionary strive for independence, March 14, 2006
This review is from: The Cuban Revolution: Years of Promise (Hardcover)
The Cuban Revolution: Years Of Promise is an insightfully co-authored historical documentation of Cuba's revolutionary strive for independence from an undesired government by Teo A Babùn (frequent guest commentator with CBS, CNN, CNBC, CBN, the BBC, and the German Television Network. National executive director of ECHO-Cuba) & Victor Andrès Triay (Cuban-American Historian at Middlesex Community College and acclaimed author). Delving deep into the previously unseen terrain of the Cuban revolutionaries, The Cuban Revolution reveals sights and insights never before released for an eye-opening and educational affect. The Cuban Revolution is very highly recommended to all non-specialist general readers, particularly though to readers with an interest in the firsthand happenings of the Cuban Revolution.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good book, if a little on the thin side, March 24, 2009

This review is from: The Cuban Revolution: Years of Promise (Hardcover)
This book is a photo album of the Cuban Revolution from its earliest days to the point where it became obviously and wholeheartedly communist. The thing I liked the most about the book was how it singled out rebels in some of the photographs who would later become disenchanted with Castro and his dictatorship and either emigrated or actively fought against the regime. The way this subject is treated you would think that everyone just loved Castro but whenever anyone establishes a dictatorship he also creates enemies. In Castro's case many of the enemies were his closest comrades who believed him when he said he was fighting for democracy and freedom.
