4.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly useful September 16, 2006
By st
Format:Paperback
I loved this book--and, while I'm certainly not going to work in a Tiki-flavored cube and expect a promotion, the ideas weren't terribly impractical for my home office (zen cube) and my kids' rooms (garden cube), guest bathroom (modified safari cube), so if you're looking for fresh and interesting ideas for small spaces, this book is for you.

PS--most of the ideas aren't too over-the top--certainly the garden cube is a bit much, the nap cube might send the wrong message(cereal dispenser, cot), but there are several ideas that are both fabulous and practical and won't elicit strange looks from coworkers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great ideas to get rid of your boring gray cube! June 25, 2006
Format:Paperback
It's great for gathering some interesting ideas for improving the standard-issue cube. Most of the finished cubes are way too over the top to really do, but I think the tips are useful for how to copy some of the things they did, plus they have a resources list in the back if you want to visit the websites they used. I'm definitely planning to use this book for inspiration to make my workspace more fun. Even if you never actually change anything in your area, this book is still good for laughs - use it as a "cube"-table book!

3.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining not practical March 29, 2007
Format:Paperback
The book was entertaining to look at but the designs were too tacky and themed. I was hoping for less over the top ideas and something more practical and classy. Most of the design ideas would get the bosses upset or be the laugh of my neighbor cubies.

The ideas are pretty elaborate, but nonetheless, I was able to get some ideas from them. But more to the point, the book has a good concept. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars This is one of the saddest books I have ever seen.
I wonder if this book is really social commentary, I could easily see the owner of a TikiCube being lampooned in a Mike Judge film. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Practical
The idea is cute but no practical. Most companies do not let you go that extavagent because of company policy and fire codes. Also, they seem to be expensive to do. Read more
