Surprisingly useful,
By st (AR) - See all my reviews

I loved this book--and, while I'm certainly not going to work in a Tiki-flavored cube and expect a promotion, the ideas weren't terribly impractical for my home office (zen cube) and my kids' rooms (garden cube), guest bathroom (modified safari cube), so if you're looking for fresh and interesting ideas for small spaces, this book is for you.
PS--most of the ideas aren't too over-the top--certainly the garden cube is a bit much, the nap cube might send the wrong message(cereal dispenser, cot), but there are several ideas that are both fabulous and practical and won't elicit strange looks from coworkers.

Great ideas to get rid of your boring gray cube!,

It's great for gathering some interesting ideas for improving the standard-issue cube. Most of the finished cubes are way too over the top to really do, but I think the tips are useful for how to copy some of the things they did, plus they have a resources list in the back if you want to visit the websites they used. I'm definitely planning to use this book for inspiration to make my workspace more fun. Even if you never actually change anything in your area, this book is still good for laughs - use it as a "cube"-table book!

Entertaining not practical,

The book was entertaining to look at but the designs were too tacky and themed. I was hoping for less over the top ideas and something more practical and classy. Most of the design ideas would get the bosses upset or be the laugh of my neighbor cubies.

A book of pictures,

I was hoping for a little bit more from this book but as it turned out it was just a book of pictures of really nifty cubes. I was hoping that there would be a bit more in the way of ideas and suggestions but for the most part if you are looking to dress up a drab workspace this is for you.

Not Practical,
By Megan- College Student (Medina, OH United States) - See all my reviews

The idea is cute but no practical. Most companies do not let you go that extavagent because of company policy and fire codes. Also, they seem to be expensive to do. There were a few good ideas for cube decorating in general but not worth the purchase of the book unless you woud like to see the pictures. I am not sorry that I bought it, just a little disappointed that my first ever cubicle cannot have a fun theme.

Compared to other "decorate your cubicle" books I've read, this was the most helpful. Sure, in most office environments, nearly all of the suggestions in their entirety are impractical (noted exceptions are the CEO Cube and the Library Cube); but elements can be used at your discretion to liven up your working area without going over the top. Additionally, this book inspired and provided wonderful suggestions for ways I can subtly turn items fitting my cube's theme into something useful for work (cigar ashtray to hold paperclips, pipe stand w/ tobacco jar to hold pens/highlighters). It's worth looking at!

A friend of mine purchased this book and I had to have it. You might not be able to decorate like in the book, but it gets you thinking about things you can do. It also gives you ideas that you could use in your home office.

This is one of the saddest books I have ever seen.,
This review is from: Cube Chic (Paperback)
I wonder if this book is really social commentary, I could easily see the owner of a TikiCube being lampooned in a Mike Judge film. This book was interesting to flip through at the book store (yes, those still exist) but I would only buy it as a joke for someone who just got a terrible office job. Or maybe someone who doesn't stand irony and has six cats.

I really loved looking at the cool pictures of cubes. I don't know how they come up with so many ideas! Definetely a book worth buying for great decorating ideas for a home office or at work.

It's okay. It's the type of book that you browse through once but not twice.
