For less than $22 (price + shipping) I was expecting a crappy camera but this one's image is crystal clear. Great in low light I don't even need the built-in lights at night. I speak softly and the microphone works great. I have a MAC and use Skype. Great webcam.

This camera is inexpensive but it sure does the job. I use it on Mac mini and Linux without any trouble.Of course. No software to install so no waiting for loading, just use it. We have three of these in our house and it's great fun. One is the clip on type for a laptop and it's very convenient. There are no Windows machine here so it might be different for them.

It's wonderful web cam, in price and compatibility. Used in Mandriva Linux 2010, just plug and play, and works, with the Mic with any problem. Better than others more expensive without Linux support.

I was really skeptical about this webcam, but I ordered it because of the high review ratings, and I'm glad I did. It worked right out of the box and has great picture quality. The only negative I could point out is that one of the led lights on the side is not working, but it has no effect on the overall functionality.

Normally, I don't bother with writing product reviews, but when an unknown company like this produces a good product at a very reasonable price compared to all these other name brands that put out junk, I am compelled to say a good word about them.

I have a brand new Mac mini. I plugged in the camera, nothing happened. No camera appeared in my devices. Rebooted. Still nothing. Ran macam 0.9.2, no camera was detected. The led lights work but that's it. Don't buy this for Mac mini.

With the required kernel version installed (I had 2.6.32), it just works out of the box. I've used this via skype (camera/microphone), mplayer and camorama.

I was also able to get it to work with a USB 1.1 port, though at a lower resolution (640x480). With the USB 2 port, it goes up to 1600x1200. Both USB 1.1 port and USB 2 are adequate for skypeing.

Highly recommended, great functionality at a low price.

This camera is probably the best one you can buy for such a low price.

PRO: Video clarity is excellent for such an inexpensive camera, the camera and base are made using actual metal which makes it sturdy, heavy and stay in place. The microphone quality is not great, but it actually works ok with programs like Skype. Adjustable brightness LED's for lighting, sweet!

CON: Base is clumsy to adjust the first time; best to set it once and leave it alone. Audio from microphone was loud enough but there needs to be a tone adjustment to make it more to my liking.

If you're still using some ancient old camera like I was, get this thing, or 2 or 3 for that matter, they are awesome for $17.00!

Update 12-06-2010. Audio sounds like crap on my new Windows 7 computer. Cubeternet won't give me download link for drivers. Screw them!

inexpensive camera, yet gives very good picture quality, even in low natural lighting, it has a built-in LED light source, and the microphone quality is better than a dedicated microphone we had been using.

Our webcam does not use any audio plug. We use a USB plug for both
Video and Audio. The one you got is not a Cubeternet product and is
likely a knock off. Please contact the seller directly.

I bought this for my daughter to use on her Mac to communicate with us on Skype from South Asia.

IT DID NOT WORK, even after downloading all the recommended drivers. A waste of money & time.
