4.0 out of 5 stars I bought this for Homebrew Access, nothing more December 10, 2014
Verified Purchase
**DISCLAIMER: This isn't a review for the 'Intended' use of this Product!!!!**

The exploit Cubic Ninja is used for works ONLY on Firmware Versions 9.2.0-20 and Below!! This has been patched as of Firmware Version 9.3!

I purchased this product mainly for one reason: to have access to Homebrew on my 3DS. I'm not very interested in the game itself, just the exploit it can provide. After scanning the QR Code, the Exploit ran flawlessly and I successfully gained access to the Homebrew on my SD Card.

Now the important question: is it worth $30+?

Currently, No. As of the time I'm writing this, there is only very basic Homebrew available. I'm sure in the near future there will be a large variety of Homebrew.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hidden Gem with Useful Hacking Benefits November 21, 2014
I really enjoy this game, however I wouldn't say that the game is worth $50... I bought it at a local game store for $6.99 plus tax and I can say it was worth it. Even though people say this obscure game wasn't good, I found it enjoyable... But then again, it isn't much... I of course found it good due to the recently released exploit, but even if you don't want to hack, it still could provide a bit of entertainment while you wait for your stop on a train.

#1 important thing to know: There's no way (that I could find) to reset or delete your game. So if you're buying this game used, don't be surprised if the game is partially completed already.

This is probably a big part of the reason that this game is usually available comparatively cheap on Amazon used. I rather doubt that Gamestop is willing to buy this one used, so people are probably more apt to dump it cheap on Amazon or eBay when they're done with it.

That being said, this is definitely a worthwhile title for less than $15 or so (if the only available copies cost significantly more than that, you'd better be a big fan of the motion-based puzzle games like those you'll frequently see on the iPhone/iPad etc.) Remember those "Labyrinth" board games with the tilting tables?

It's really not a bad little game! I've enjoyed playing through the first 25 or so levels out of maybe 100 or so. It really reminds me of something that Nintendo might have created to go alongside their AR games / FaceRaiders / etc. to show off the motion abilities of the 3DS. Which brings me to the next major point that you really ought to know before buying this game:

#2 important thing to know: This game is NOT 3D and DOES NOT USE the 3D features of the upper screen on your 3DS. Yes, it's a non-3D 3DS game, something of an oxymoron. The graphics are also nothing special.

That being said, it's fun, it's cute, and it will probably keep you entertained for somewhere in the neighborhood of 15 hours of playtime if you're into motion-based puzzles.

3.0 out of 5 stars Very Basic, Not Much Fun, Decent Graphics August 13, 2012

Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
The screenshots looked promising, but the short level boards and mini-missions just fail for me. Basically, you start each "level" with Cubic Ninja popping out one door with this mission to exit another door, usually the opposite end of the board. These boards do get progressively harder, though not by too much. And they are all fairly short, think 10-30 seconds each. There are goodies to grab alon the way, and as you move through these rooms, spikes and dropping boulders and falling walls and platforms to avoid. *yawn* It's been done before. All of it. But, you know, better. In Mario, Donkey Kong and the attack of the Mini's, Sonic the Hedgehog, etc., etc., etc., The list can go on forever. But sadly, we get this little carbon copy Cubic Ninja. He could have BEEN something. Really. Instead, he's just this sad little square getting sucked into holes as he hurries to grab goodies an avoid spikes. *yawn* Oh, and you can build your own boards as you progress, you know, with the stuff you pass along the way. I guess for some people that makes it more exciting. Minecraft anyone? *yawn* I can't flat out say I dislike this game though, it's just too short and simple for me. But that is the appeal for the younger crowd, and my 6 year old does love it. And Cubic Ninja himself, well he's cute. The graphics have a certain, weird appeal. So, while I don't LIKE it persay, I definitly can't say I dislike it either. It's just OK. So I gave it 3 stars. Would I recommend it? No. Is it worth the $10 or whatever I paid for it? meh. Not for ME. But for my 6 year old? Definitly. If you're buying this for the 8 and under crowd, it's a decent purchase. Unless of course, they are already filling up on the likes of Assassin's Creed and the sort. Read more ›

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun and interesting! December 29, 2012

This game really utilizes the 3D experience of the Nintendo 3Ds. It is fun but can also be challenging depending on the several levels you are on. I would recommend this to puzzle lovers all alike but if you do not like 3D than you may not fully appreciate the prospect of this game. So far it is a fun challenging game but I am still on the first stage...

OK I played this game a little more and now this is just ridiculous! I am tired of the same thing. The 3d effect has worn out its welcome and I need some thing new. This game is fun at first but soon you will find yourself looking for something new and refreshing.
