Exactly what the europeans use at home! Does a great job making authentic at-home european espresso. Easy to use and does exactly the same thing those big clunky and expensive machines do.

I own a nice espresso machine, with a milk steamer and the whole nine yards, but right now it's in storage across the country from me. I got this to substitute until I can go back and get my stuff. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to use. I have used it with Café La Llave Espresso Bricks, 10-Ounce and made iced lattes with the resulting espresso. Very happy with this purchase, and will likely buy more to give as gifts to others in my family who enjoy espresso.

The best way I've come up with to season an aluminium moka pot is to fill the base about 1/3 full of salt, add boiling water to the top and dissolve the salt by stirring a little, put in the filter basket (empty) and put on the top, then brew the salt water trough. Let cool, pour the salty water from the top back into the base, and brew through again. Repeat a few times. Then rinse the salty water out and brew through a batch of cheap coffee. Rinse (no soap !). Repeat with another batch of cheap coffee if you wish. After that use good coffee for real ! :-)

Does what it says but handle started to melt after first use. Need to put it more on the edge of the stove and not have the heat get to the handle. easy to use, easy to clean.

This is certainly not one of the pricey stovetop espresso makers that are popular. I think the quality is OK for the price. The finishing is a little crude, but I don't see that as a problem with daily coffee making.

I love the taste of espresso and espresso-based beverages that I get in the (good) coffee shops, but I definitely don't have the money to burn on some of the high-end espresso making machines that I've seen around. Especially since I was not sure I would even like them that much or be able to replicate the experience of a good espresso at home. So decided to take a baby step and try out this small and inexpensive stovetop espresso maker. Overall, i have been pretty pleased with the result.

Espresso making with this contraption is pretty straightforward. You fill it up with ground coffee and water, put on the stove, and wait until all the water has boiled up and filled the upper chambre. The maker makes enough coffee for a very small coffee cup, which is fine with me. It is fairly sturdy, although the seal between its various parts is not all that tight - I always pour the coffee out of it above the sink. The coffee tastes pretty good in my opinion, much better than what you would get out of a conventional coffee maker. However, you will never mistake it for a real espresso. It is enough for someone who is not a coffee-taste nazi to keep his or her cravings for a good cup of espresso temporarily assuaged.
