The kit has self-checking activities for developing students’ computational skills, with a set of overhead rods, and a 64-page book, “Everything’s Coming Up Fractions with Cuisenaire Rods,” for instructional use. The set is made of wood for durability, and is suitable for grades 4 to 6.

I bought these for my six year daughter to use with Miquon math and she loved them. We use them for addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions. You can use them with any math homework your child uses, they are very easy to figure out and a lot of fun.

1.0 out of 5 stars False advertising August 2, 2012
By GramzIH
Amazon Verified Purchase
Anyone looking at the Cuisenaire Rods Kit, disregard the "Case of 12 Trays." That's a lie. It's one tray. One tray is not worth the $13. The case would be an amazing deal, but that's why I bought it... Nope, no deal. It's actually false advertising, but then that's happened at Amazon at least a time or two.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent value May 12, 2007
Durability: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 5.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
The rods are excellent quality for the price. We use them every evening with our daughters and they love doing exercises with them, making shapes or just playing freely. We can see the mathematical concepts taking form in their heads as they play with the rods. These are a great tool for teaching the fundamentals of math and geometry through very simple play and experimentation.

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT AS STATED
This is ONE tray, not a classroom set. So the "retail price" quoted is completely wrong. You get what you pay for here, which is ONE tray of rods.

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting math toy for the kids.
These are a little advanced for my kids at the moment to do real "math" with them but they do show an interest in playing with the colors and lining them up. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars same quality, 50 years later
I remember learning math using cuisinaire rods, back in the early 60's. So, I was excited to offer them as a learning tool in my preschool/after-school homework club.

1.0 out of 5 stars Fraud. This is NOT a case of 12 trays.
The product description clearly states "case of 12 trays" ... included in the box was one retail packaging box with one tray and one set of wooden Cuisinaire rods. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars good stuff
very happy with cuisenaire rods. I like the instructional booklet that comes with it. The only thing that would make this product better would be a lid that actually stays on.
