I love this pan! As someone who truly enjoys cooking, I have several types of 'skillets;' cast iron, non stick annodized, and enameled cast iron. Each has its particular talents in the kitchen.

1.0 out of 5 stars Nonstick part of the pan is coming off after a few uses
I've only used this pan a handful of times maybe less than 10 times for steaks and burgers. The nonstick part of one side of the pan is already partially showing the metal part of the pan. It's the outer part of the pan that's coming off which I don't scrub hard when I'm cleaning it. I would even normally soak my pans for a few hours to ease up the cleaning. I would...

I love this pan! As someone who truly enjoys cooking, I have several types of 'skillets;' cast iron, non stick annodized, and enameled cast iron. Each has its particular talents in the kitchen.

I wanted a grill pan. After doing some research, I decided on this Cuisinart for two reasons: reputation and weight. I was also lucky to find it at a time when special pricing was featured.

The weight issue is important for me as I have lung disease that fatigues me rather quickly. This pan is managable! But of course, the object of buying it was grilling. I have done steaks, chicken, pork and salmon in this pan, and it conducts heat beautifully. The initial sear is exquisite. It is the grill pan for which I was hoping, and I could not be more pleased.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great as far as I'm concerned!!, March 3, 2007

This review is from: Cuisinart 630-30 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 12-Inch Round Grill Pan (Kitchen)
My main reason for purchasing a grill pan was for things like tuna steak and grilled vegetables. I don't eat greasy foods, so I'm not so concerned about draining off fat, but more interested in dry-cooking and blackening. Although a big, heavy cast iron pan is best for this purpose, I didn't want to lift anything that heavy all the time.

This pan really works well for what I need. So well that I find I use it for EVERYTHING, EVERY DAY, not just for grilling! It has replaced my other non-stick fry pans for all purposes.

Pros: Incredible cleanup--much better than my Calphalon non-stick pans. Handle is longer and does not get as hot as Calphalon, so you can actually pick it up without a potholder. Pan is very light, considering its size--it's HUGE!(see cons).

Cons: It's light in weight. If you are looking for something heavy this is not it--get a cast iron. For me, this is a plus. Also, I wish I had looked further and gotten the 10-inch. I have an electric stove and my burners are not big enough for the 12-inch pan. I still use it but move it off the burner a little. I recommend the 10-inch to get better use of the heat if you have electric.

Bottom line: I would buy this pan again, but probably the 10-inch.

I chose this Cuisinart Grill for 4 reasons. Cuisinart's reputation, price, weight and the fact that the entire grill can actually be placed in the oven.

I use my grill almost daily and it is so lightweight and easy to clean.

I love it!

This is my first grill pan. I am still learning how to cook, and I purchased the Cuisinart 17 pc cookware set. This grill pan now makes my cookware set complete! I enjoy my steaks rare, so I got the grill pan really hot the first time I used it. It seared the meat nicely on the outside so it was still juicy and red on the inside. I had beautiful grill marks, too. I saw other reviews complaining about the grill marks, but mine came out nice (perhaps because the pan was on high heat?). I have a flat ceramic cooktop stove, and this pan worked perfectly on it. The pan is the same size as my largest burner, but I did not have any heat issues since the heat dispersed evenly in the pan. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to do indoor grilling! Also, I saw a tip from Alton Brown on the food network... sprinkle salt on the pan so it rests in the grooves to make for easier clean-up. Although the grooves are not very deep on this pan, it does assist with the already easy clean up (although you can't really get much easier due to the non-stick feature).

Happy grilling!

I bought this for my Mother's birthday and what a beautiful pan this is! I could not believe the price too, so reasonable for Cuisinart. I love this nonstick hard anodized cookware. I have bought several pieces in the past and they are my favorite cookware.

I have a glass cooktop stove and this pan works great on it. You need to preheat the pan, and once you put your food on, let it be. I just used it for the second time, and 4 burgers (at once) came out great, better than the first time. I definitely let the pan heat up longer the second time, and didn't touch the burgers. I got great grill marks. I do wish the wall of the pan was alittle higher, as the grease really splattered on my stove. But I do love this pan!! One last thing, I have a George Forman grill, but I prefer this pan because I feel like I have more control over the process.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Pan for Great Prince!, October 13, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Cuisinart 630-30 Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 12-Inch Round Grill Pan (Kitchen)
This is really a great grilll pan for the price. Though the grill marks don't compare to grilling on the charcoal grill (I really love to grill), it does a nice job when pan is pre-heated before searing steak. I can use this pan to char the outside for great texture and still leave the middle of thick steak nice and rare using gas stove. 12" is large enough that I can grill four smaller cuts of steaks or two porterhouse or T-bones and still have enough surface area to throw in cloves of garlc, cherry tomatoes and small potatoes.

I would recommend this grill pan to anyone who enjoyes grilled foods, but don't have time or access to an outdoor gas or charcoal grill.

This is my first grill pan and I am very pleased with it overall. I love that its big enough to cook 4 pieces of fish or chicken or whatever. It has a great sear and is easy to clean. The only downside is that it doesn't always leave great grill marks as the ridges are pretty low. Other than that, I love it and can't believe the price.

This is a good grill pan. It heats evenly, is light to handle, goes from stovetop to oven and cleans up easily. I have made burgers, steak and chicken so far and the results have been good. For the price I am very pleased with this pan.
