3.0 out of 5 stars Nice cookware set for the money
I bought this cookware set about a month ago when it was on sale and came to a total of $133, including a bonus stockpot and free shipping. It's the best set I have owned, but it definitely has its drawbacks. I have found the pan and pot exteriors to be very prone to scratching, even when trying to handle them with care. 5.0 out of 5 stars Not top of the line - But best value for the money, September 20, 2005
This review is from: Cuisinart 66-12A Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 12-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
I've had this cook set for 2 months and have cooked extensively with them. They replaced a stainless steel set of cookware with the triple clad bottoms (copper sandwiched between stainless) and that is the only feature that I wished that these had.
My favorite features are the glass lids and the non-stick interior. I have had no problem cleaning these and have been careful to follow the care instructions included in the package (i.e. no abrasive cleaners, etc)
Even though the instructions claim that metal utensils can be used with the cook ware I will be trying to maximize the useful life by avoiding metal of any sort with these. I have noticed that even plastic utensils leave visible telltale marks, no scratching, just marks.
For the money these are a superior set of cookware with a price that is unmatched at my local Sam's or Costco, nor was I able to track down an equal (or identical) product using search engines online.
If you want a high quality set that offers a pot and pan for every use this is a hands-down winner.

You're better off hanging the pots and pans on overhead racks for them to keep their outward good looks, but unfortunately I don't have a fancy kitchen, so I have to be super careful when storing them in the cupboards. The lid handles (they are metal) do get very hot when cooking on higher settings or boiling things. You also have to be mindful about what kind of utensils you use, because even though I've used only what they recommended (plastic or wood), the bottom of my sauteeing pan somehow showed marks after the very first use.
As far as pros are concerned, the interior coating provides superior nonstick cooking even without any oil, butter, marg, Pam, etc... and is a breeze to clean. And for people who tend to put stuff on the stove and forget about it (guilty!), your smoke detector won't go off near as often! I left my grilled cheese on medium heat for goodness knows how long, and the bottom bread slice was brown not burned.
All in all, I'm happy with my purchase. This set contains just about every size pot and pan I need for everyday cooking. I'm hoping it will last a long time, but only time will tell.
I would recommend that you wait and buy this set when it's on sale, not at the full price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great set for the price., October 3, 2005

Recently purchased this set from Amazon.com, received it within a week and the package was well cushioned! They are okay in retaining heat, but that's because I cook alot of high heat stir fry. Cleaning was a breeze, and I did noticed that you almost don't need any oil when you cook, which is great for low fat cooking. Definitely recommend this set for any typical home cooking.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad..., October 25, 2005

We have enjoyed these pots and pans. They are sturdy, the lids fit well and they cook evenly. I have a few concerns. 1.) While the lids fit securely, there is no ventilation for the steam to get out, making boil overs a problem. 2.) The lid handles get hot. 3.) Where the handle of the pot attaches to the inside are some bolts and sometimes food gets caught in there and is "missed" when it comes time for cleaning. Overall, not bad but maybe my previous hodge podge of pans are making this set seem wonderful. I am glad that we got a good deal on these.

After 40 years of marriage, I have finally found cookware that lives up to its description. I enjoy cooking with these pots. They cook evenly and are a breeze to clean. The handles do not heat and feel balanced and safe while handling them.I even like the glass lids that allow me to see what's happening without lifting the lid.
I just recommended them to my daughter-in-law.

I bought these pans for myself a few months ago, and wanted to write a review but needed to wait and put them through the ringer first, which I did gladly.

They are GREAT. Really truly just workhorses that look nice too. They live up to the Cuisinart name. They hold heat VERY well, cook quite evenly, and are so practical and versatile. When I cook for large groups, I can cook what I need in them to 80%, then put the lid on and stash it in the oven to finish it off and free up a burner.

I have not cooked meat in these pans, as I am vegetarian, so cannot comment on that. But all manner of interesting multi-cultaral food has been concocted in them, and they are marvelous. Oh, and that free stockpot that comes with the set? Its ENOURMOUS.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cuisinart cookware, July 27, 2005
This review is from: Cuisinart 66-12A Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 12-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
I researched cookware for several weeks before deciding on the cuisinart cookware. It has everything that I was looking for - non-stick, hard-anodized, stand-up-to-everything-cookware that can also go in the oven! Then Amazon.com had the price that couldn't be touched by anyone else, so I jumped on it. The "standard" shipping got here a week earlier than expected. Both Cuisinart and Amazon.com have by business for life!

I have really loved this set. It looks great, cleans easily, and I love cooking with it. You really need to use a lower heat setting when cooking, but once I got used to that I haven't had any problems.

I purchased this cookware based on very favorable reviews and I'm happy to say that these pots and pans are great! Both my husband and I enjoy cooking and he's as happy with this cookware as I am. He keeps telling me what a great buy I made! I really like being able to cook at lower temps and I love the glass lids. Anyone looking for excellent cookware at a reasonable price should buy this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Cookeware!!, August 7, 2005

This review is from: Cuisinart 66-12A Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 12-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
Excellent quality! They are nice looking and cook evenly and really retain heat. I am extremely pleased with this set. I compared many brands (and even bought other ones, only to return them....I have a hard time making up my mind because I want the best for my money)and these are well worth it....much better than most. The non-stick is durable and food doesn't stick and cleans with ease. The weight of the cookware is perfect. Other brands are too heavy or too light, these are just right. The tempered glass lids look great also on this awesome set. If you want a quality non-stick set, these are for you!
