This pan was defective so I returned it, thank you Amazon for paying the postage. The first time I used the pan I oiled it, but noticed that my piece of paper towel turned black. I washed the pan again, oiled it again, more black. I discovered that the lengthwise seam along the raised section of the bottom of the pan was open - I could catch it with my fingernail, and the black was coming from this seam. Later I stopped by Macy's and looked at the same pan and discovered the same open seam. It looks like Cuisinart is selling a defective item on a large scale.

Being a bachelor, I wanted a smaller than full-size roasting pan. This seemed to do the trick. Amazon's description included the sentence:
"The secret is in the base where 18/10 stainless steel and pure aluminum are encapsulated to ensure fast and even heating."
Amazon made the same error describing its own house brand, Pinzon. Upon calling Cuisinart and speaking to a delightful customer service rep, I learned that this pan is 100% stainless. That translates into 'buckling' and 'hot spots' when deglazing on the stove-top for gravy.

This pan probably deserves a higher rating, but only if you are willing to put up with what 100% stainless is capable of.

The pan looked great and is nice and heavy; however, exactly like another reviewer said, there is an unsealed seam in the bottom of the pan that gives off black stuff even after multiple washings. I was very disappointed. HOWEVER, Amazon was GREAT - very fast shipping, plus they paid return shipping because the item was defective.

This is a great product. I'm very please with it. I used to have dripping on the bottom of my oven not anymore. I had a baking pan for my lasagna that it was too shallow, this one is perfect. I really recomend it. Also, Amazon is is a very good webside to get it, furthermore the service and customer are wonderful. Thank you.

I currently own two Cuisinart Chef's Classic items: this lasagna pan, and the multi-purpose pot. I just ordered the 12" everyday pan, and am looking forward to receiving it. I may get a sauce pan at some point, but I'm trying to keep my kitchen stocked as minimally as possible so I'll have to wait and see about that.

I haven't had the quality issues that others have experienced. No black marks, discoloration, or gaps in seams. This pan has been very functional and durable. It cleans up well. It looks nice on the table. The sides are high, which is great for lasanga. It's a good value for the money. At one time, I would have purchased All-Clad cookware, but now that I own Cuisinart, I'm throughly content with what I have (and at a fraction of the cost).

This is a good value, IMHO.

Use nylon or silicone utensils so as not to mar the finish (no metal). I've become very partial to Trudeau utensils, which can also be purchased at Amazon.

This was a gift for my husband, the lasagna chef. We had read previous comments about a seam on the bottom of the pan. This pc. was seamless. It's a beautiful serving dish at a fabulous price.

No seam in this pan (as some others have complained about-must be a flaw in the design if the stainless steel sheet runs out mid-pan). We serve lasagna several times a year for family and friend entertaining. No more putting a cookie sheet under a pyrex dish or having a mess in the bottom of the stove. We now serve wonderful,evenly cooked, deep dish, serveral layer lasagna with no mess. One pan can now feed everyone rather than filling everything we own that looks like it might work with pasta. Am planning to buy another for the REALLY LARGE crowds.

I was initially unsure if I really wanted to order the lasagna pan. It is not that I didn't need one, I did, but I thought it was quite expensive. I have to admit that after using it, I love it! Nice high sides and handles, no seaming in the bottom and it really didn't even scratch much when I cut the lasagna. i would definitely recommend it!

I had no idea how much difference the slightly higher sides of this pan would make. It works great and cleanup is pretty easy even after having used it to reheat.

great pan to use if you make alot of large Cassaroles.
simple tip: spray nonstick on it prior to each use.
makes cleanup a snap, and serving and cutting out the Lasagna a simple easy no problem solution. It comes with great recipes as well.
