5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing pan!
This is a great pan, a little butter and my eggs come out great, better than great, every time! I noticed the last reviewer said that the nonstick coating on this pan isn't very good and her eggs stick. Well the nonstick coating isn't bad, it just isn't there! This is not a nonstick pan, silly!

2.0 out of 5 stars I wish I could like it
I really do wish I could like it. This is a well made, heavy pan that cooks like a dream. But prospective buyers will want to do some measuring around their kitchens before ordering. There is a LONG handle, which has been a problem for me. It's hard to fit in the oven, hard to fit into the dishwasher, and hard to store in my kitchen cabinets. Cuisinart makes a 12"...

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing pan!, January 16, 2004
This review is from: Cuisinart 722-30HD Chef's Classic 12-Inch Everything Pan with Dome Cover (Kitchen)
This is a great pan, a little butter and my eggs come out great, better than great, every time! I noticed the last reviewer said that the nonstick coating on this pan isn't very good and her eggs stick. Well the nonstick coating isn't bad, it just isn't there! This is not a nonstick pan, silly!

When you cook a lot sometimes you want nonstick, ususally for things like eggs (unless you like lots of butter :), but you want a plain old pan for things like searing and getting pans super hot which could destroy a nonstick coating.

As usual this pan is WAY above average, thanks to Cuisinart's legendary quality. You can spend lots more on All-Clad or Calphalon (both awesome brands) but this cuisinart pan gets it done, everytime. Everytime.

5.0 out of 5 stars China Mfg But....., April 5, 2005
This review is from: Cuisinart 722-30HD Chef's Classic 12-Inch Everything Pan with Dome Cover (Kitchen)
A lovely medium to heavy weight pan. Cleans up like a dream (Use low heat). Cuisinart Chef's Classic seems (unlike Calphalon) to have overcome the 'Made in China 'curse'.

(09/15 Update): I recently purchased the highly rated 5 1/2 Qt. saute pan with helper handle (currently on sale for about $28). The dome lid from the 12" 'Everything' pan fits the saute pan perfectly, converting it to a more-than-adequate dutch oven.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm blown away!!!, July 10, 2004

I just received this yesterday. First of all, it's a vision of beauty and elegance. Very sturdy and heavy, not flimsy at all. I just used it this morning to braise a meat and saute onions to throw in the crockpot. Deglazing made me feel like I should have been on a cooking show. This is probably the best cooking investment I've made yet!!! Buy it. You won't be sorry in the least!

I am so delighted with my brand new everyday pan. It is no longer new; however, you'd never guess that I cooked the absolute best stuff in it today. You might be able to find others for a greater price but none is better. The weight and balance are perfect. It cleans as if it were silicone. I have several other everyday pans and each has taken a back seat to this one. It is simply thes BEST.

To the reviewer wanting to remove a stain from this pan. Try Bar Keepers Friend, it is highly recommended for stainless steel products.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Nice Pan, January 22, 2004

I have had this pan for a month now, and I am pleased with it. Perfect for sauteing steaks, chicken breasts, pork etc... on the stovetop, or pan-grilling over high heat and finishing in the oven. Also good for skillet dinners. A must have. "The Best Recipe" cookbook is also a must have.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not quite everything, but it definitely multi-tasks, June 25, 2004

This pan is a little large and heavy, but makes up for it's bulk by searing everything perfectly, and taking the place of my wok. It also doubles as a crepe pan, which comes in handy about twice a year. I end up using my saute pan more often, but this is a good back-up pan, as well as my primary pan for large cuts of meat.

I bought this pan about two months ago as I was making the switch from non-stick pans to ones that are stainless steel. This one was on sale at Amazon and had good reviews so I picked one up. I also got a Calphalon and a third brand pan (three different sizes, all stainless steel, three different stores) and I have to say this Cuisinart is the best. It has a beautiful shiny surface that requires very little effort to clean. Compared with the tri-ply Calphalon omlette pan I got, the Cuisinart has a mirror finish, while the Calphalon takes a little more effort and soaking to clean. The third brand, I can't recall the name, but it looked to be constructed with concentric rings, like it had been forged, and everything in the world sticks to it. I am currently shopping for a replacement for that one, it's too much work.

The Cuisinart weighs quite a bit as it is a large pan but has a convenient handle on the opposite end to help maneuver it. The lid forms a vacuum with the pan if you leave it on after turning off the heat which keeps food warm and prevents it from drying out. The heat seems to spread fairly uniformly, I use gas, and have had no particular hot spots in the pan.

We have really hard water in our neighborhood and still I have yet to see any spots develop on the mirror finish of the lid, either. This is a wonderful pan, great if you are used to non-stick as food doesn't seem to stick in it as much as other stainless steel pans. The worst sticking so far was released by putting the pan with a little water in it on the stove and letting it sit on "low" for a couple of minutes. The stuck food wiped right off after that.

You won't regret this purchase!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, heavy pan!, January 22, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Cuisinart 722-30HD Chef's Classic 12-Inch Everything Pan with Dome Cover (Kitchen)
This pan is fabulous, but if you're used to cooking with cheaper cookware (which I was), you need to be mindful of how heavy and large this pan is. If you always cook for just one or two, you might want to consider a smaller pan. There's a REASON why there's a second chef's handle on this baby - save yourself a mishap and use it! Last night I made a family-sized portion of pan-roasted chicken and forgot to use the chef's handle as I removed the pan from the oven. I promptly dumped most of the pan juices right on the bottom of my oven (but luckily saved the chicken, onions, and mushrooms before they slid out!) and had a smoke-filled house the rest of the night. That was totally due to my carelessness and had nothing to do with the pan's design. That chicken was awesome! This morning I seared a roast in the pan before popping the roast in my slow cooker. The pan has nice even heat distribution, cleans up in a snap, and is gorgeous to boot. This is my second Cuisanart pan. My first was a 2-qt. saute pan bought 10 years ago that still looks and performs like new. Buy this "everything" pan - you won't regret it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for browning, January 5, 2005
This review is from: Cuisinart 722-30HD Chef's Classic 12-Inch Everything Pan with Dome Cover (Kitchen)
If you have a non-stick set this pan is a must. You can brown with this much better, and with the high lid you can even do a large roast then go straight to the oven. Nice heavy pan.
