5.0 out of 5 stars A remarkable value!......
This pretty well completes my collection of Chef's Classic cookware. It arrived nicely packaged and undamaged. I have a small range so I particularly favor this pan over the long-handled 12" skillet with helper handle. Cleanup is also easier since the pan, without the longer handle, will sit flat in the sink.

I continue to believe that, other than...

Cuisinart has two different grades of cookware. I've bought a couple of sets and seven or eight seperate pieces of what used to be called Chef's Classic over the last five or six years, and I love it!.

I continue to believe that, other than All-Clad (USA), Calphalon Contemporary (China), and Anolon Advanced (Thailand), there is no better brand of stainless steel cookware. The reader should note that the first 3 have an aluminum core wrapped by stainless on each side and, unsurprisingly, each is far more expensive than the Cuisinart Chef's Classic line, with its heavy aluminum bottom disk.

This pan, at $24.95, is a bargain that will not last much longer. It should make a wonderful Christmas gift to the most discerning of chefs.

One time I mistakenly ordered a set of the cheaper lighter weight pans. I quickly returned the set. That is what this pan is. I ordered it, and I'll keep it, but it's far inferior to what I already have. This is not nearly as well made. I see they now have a MultiClad Pro line... Seems as if they changed the names.

5.0 out of 5 stars An exceptional value!, May 6, 2006
This review is from: Cuisinart 725-30D Chef's Classic Stainless 12-Inch Everyday Pan with Dome Cover (Kitchen)
I've had this product for a month now, from Amazon. Thank You!

This pan is great for casseroles, paella, chicken & dumplings, veal marsala, etc. It's manufactured to the same standards as the rest of the Classic line, with the exception of the handles. If one inspects the image closely, it's obvious that the width of the handles parallel to the rim are narrower than that of the helper handles on companion products; however this does allow more space for oven mitts and potholders, which I enjoy as it's generally a single move from oven to table.

Of particular note, the cost of a domed twelve inch lid of this diameter direct from Cuisinart is $60 alone. The lid on this pan will fit any Cuisinart Classic pan with a model number ending in "-30" including the twelve inch frying pan and the 5.5 quart saut? pan. So if one needs to gain head space, allow for expansion, or configure an ad hoc Dutch Oven this is a bargain price.

For this product, I consider the lid to be less than half price and the pan to be free. I'm now a satisfied owner of twenty-four pieces of the Cuisinart Classic line. This may be the last, depending upon what Amazon presents in the future.

This is an incredibly useful and versatile pan, and attractive enough to both cook and serve from. I purchased it specifically for bringing to potluck dinner parties, and used it the first day I received it to make jambalaya. The heat distribution was lovely, nothing stuck while I was sauteeing the veggies, and the rice was fluffy and evenly cooked - no scorched spots.

I've been using Cuisinart cookware for almost eighteen years, and while the products have gone through some disappointing phases, this one is a sound bargain and worth well more than twice the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Value and Quality, August 9, 2007

This review is from: Cuisinart 725-30D Chef's Classic Stainless 12-Inch Everyday Pan with Dome Cover (Kitchen)
I bought this at the same time I bought the Cuisinart 12" pan with the long handle - because you couldn't get a lid for it, and I thought the price of this pan with the lid was about what you would pay for a lid alone. Well, the lid fits both pans, and the funny thing is, I'm not so good at using the handle to flip stuff in the pan, and I wind up using this everyday pan (which is identical except for the handle) because it fits in the sink and is easier to wash. The long handled version won't lie down flat in the sink since the handle is so long, and I like to let the pan soak a while so it is easier to clean. The quality of these pans are great, and I love the results. I've been using non-stick pans for years, and I've become concerned about the contaminants in them and switched to these - I wish I had years ago. They really do work better.

I bought the 14 piece set for my parents and then added this pan to their collection. They just love it.

It is so nice that my mom doesn't even bother to put food in a serving dish, she just sits this pan on the table when we have company. It is so regal and incredibly well made. It always looks beautiful.

The other thing I like is that the handles and bottom of the pan are stamped Cuisinart so everyone knows this is a quality item.

I'm very happy with my purchase.

I finally acquired one of these pans last month and I have to say I have found at least 10 uses for it, and still counting.

The handles stay cool for stove-top operation (although they do get *some* heat) and the depth and width of the pan gives it great variety in uses. I've sauteed pork chops, made baked mac n cheese, cooked mushrooms n onions and the list could go on. The fact I can sear and then slide this pan into the oven goes a LONG way with me.

The domed lid makes this an even more attractive package! I have the 12 inch helper handle skillet, and this lid will fit it! This was a HUGE bonus as far as I was concerned.

My Chef's Classic collection continues to grow, thanks to Good Amazon pricing!

I don't use this one all that much but I was able to put together a very nice set of these Cuisinart Cookware for a very good price. I do cook with them alot, this is a nice one but an add-on for me to my basic set. That said, this is a very usable pan it's really the same as the 12 inch fry pan without the long handle but with a very nice lid so it serves fry functions but can be used as a "Pela" or Caserol dish as it goes "in" the oven easy. I like these Cuisinart pots and pans much better than my (old)Caphalon. These require much less baby-ing, they cook excellent and are very similar in design and function to what one would (usually) find in a restaurant kitchen. The price is good and Amazon often has specials. Pick and choose what you want and look for specials you can save a few bucks over the "sets". I'd still opt for a good "non-stick" omlete pan but for 97% of how I cook these are very good if not great--well for the money they are great.

I purchased this item, along with the 12" skillet. A bit redundant. Although both function the same, this particular pan functions much better because the two loop handles are much easier to store than the other. It fits better on the stove when you have more than one pot going, fits better in the sink, and fits better in the dishwasher (yes, contrary to popular wisdom, I put my pans in the dishwasher). This pan also looks good on the table so I don't need to transfer to a serving bowl.

I love this pan. generous sizing makes it great for larger families. NO long handle to get in the way as it sits on the stove , in the oven or as it's being washed in the split sink. the domed lid is also nice for covering taller food items. Looks great.. Cooks great.. I wonder what my wife will say if I order another one... hmmmm.... ?
