5.0 out of 5 stars Cuisinart Cookware set
Very good value and quality. I needed new cookware for my new ceramic cooktop which requires flat bottom pans. They cook quickly and evenly.

3.0 out of 5 stars Get the Cuisinart Chef's Classic set instead, May 4, 2009
This review is from: Cuisinart 89-8AZ Classic Stainless Steel 8-Piece Cookware Set (Kitchen)
Although this Cuisinart Classic stainless set is a big improvement over discount store cookware, Amazon also sells Cuisinart's higher quality, though confusingly similarly named, Chef's Classic set for just a few dollars more. The Chef's Classic set has more substantial construction, with professional handles and stainless steel lids. For the few extra dollars it's probably the best value and performance in a stainless set, short of full tri-clad construction such as All-Clad or Cuisinart's own Multi-clad.
BTW, the top ratings from online cooking sites are for the step-up Chef's Classic set, rather than this item.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this better than my Calphalon, December 23, 2008

I got this set as a birthday gift from my husband. I've had them for a week and I've made every sticky food I can imagine in them (except candy). Even the polenta, eggs and oatmeal did not stick. I love the fact that I can sear meat and finish it in the oven. Also, being able to keep food in the pan & brown/broil under the broiler is A++. Clean up is easy. I did make some grilled ham & cheese sandwiches that left a little yellow residue from the margarine. However a little Bar keepers best friend took care of it in a jiffy. The handles are warm, not hot so I can handle them without pot holders on the stove.
I can't wait to buy more pieces! The food taste great & the pans are nice looking.

My wife and I had previously bought Cuisinart's 14 in. and 12 in. pans separately and were very pleased at the quality and ease of cooking with these two large pans. We decided to purchase the this 8 piece set to replace our non-stick cookware. I discovered a knick on the edge of one the covers, a dent on the edge of one of the pots and a small scratch on cooking surface of the 10 in. pan. Since these problems were minor and would not present a cooking problem, we decided to keep the set. After using this set recently, I am noticing a slight quality difference when compared to the 14 and 12 in pans. The 14 and 12 in pans seem to be of better quality stainless steel. Converting from non-stick to stainless is major move for us. So far, we love the stainless steel cooking and won't be using the non-stick cookware. If and when we upgrade our stainless steel cookware we will compare the other manufacturers when buying more stainless steel cookware.

Easier to maintain than Teflon. Very good when hot. Oven safe. Dishwasher, thank god!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Value for the Price!, March 3, 2009

I wasn't sure if I would like this set of cookware. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The set is a nice weight(I would like a bit heavier if I could have my "druthers"). Clean-up is easy--just be sure and cook on a lower temp than you might be used to. It is not expensive so you won't break the bank, and it is nice looking. I like the glass lids so that I can keep an eye on what's cooking.

This is a nice set of pans for the person staring out. The bottoms are not quite as heavy as I'd hoped, but all in all, a good value for the price I paid.

I Love this set! I was a little worried about food sticking to the frying pans. The real test was frying an egg. I have a gas stove,& on medium heat, with a pat of butter, the egg did not stick & cleanup was easy. I have burned food in the pans, but with a little elbow grease they still cleaned up pretty easy. ( I didn't have to use A-JAx or Barkeepers Friend either.) I've been looking for a good stainless steel cookware set for awhile, & they're quite pricey. This set is great for the price.

The Cuisinart set I purchased includes three pots, two frying pans and three glass lids. Very, very nice for the price, but I would have preferred a heavier gauge metal. Have had to re-learn a few cooking techniques in order to use them most effectively.

I am just sorry I waited so long to replace all my old non-stick junk with this solid stainless cookware. It cleans easily by just soaking in water, requires less oil, and cooks evenly. I love the clear glass lids, now I can see what is cooking, and with no splatters. The only thing I don't like, is the lid handles get VERY HOT when you try to take them off, you really need to use a pot holder. Small price to pay for great cookware.
