This product had good reviews so I bought this french fry cutter. I do not know what kind of patatoes others use in this but first time I used it the blade broke this is junk. we grow our own patatoes maybe they are harder than store bought. avoid this unless you have small soft patatoes.

This device that is guaranteed for 5 years broke the second time I used it. It is truly junk!. I have other electric Cuisnart products and are very happy with them so I bought this on the name alone. Big Mistake. Don't buy this device if you plan on using it more than once or twice.

Not up to Cuisinart's normal standards,

Overall, not impressed. It does what it says, however, is best used on smaller potatoes, or cut larger in half first. The suction pad doesn't work that well.

I am a French teacher and I often make "frites" for my students. This looked like a handy tool but it broke the first time I used it. It was not strong enough to push a potato through it and the front section broke immediately. I will go back to cutting the spuds by hand.

The plastic is weak. The handle is hard to push, and it seems like the device will break if you try to hard. The suction cup doesn't stick to anything.
In short, this device does nothing that it says it will do. Don't waste your money. Buy a stronger French fry cutter, or use a knife.

I also wish I'd read these reviews before I wasted my money on this piece of junk. Mine also broke the first time I used it. Definitely not up to Cuisinart standards. AND there were no instructions at all included with the cutter, not even on the outside of the box. I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to work a french fry cutter, but some hints on what and what not to do would be helpful. As for using smaller potatoes, I like my french fries longer than two inches. ;0

I should have read the reviews on this site before ordering (these people are telling the truth!!!). The blades on my machine broke the second time I used it and the suction cups do not work at all.

Cuisinart surprised me. The pictures on the box show "straight" cut fries. The actual product has one side curved to fit the curved path of the cutting mechanism.
Curved fried can't be cooked on all 4 sides. Boo-hoo. There were no tips nor any printed material included with the cutter. I'll ditch this one and buy another brand.

with the name Cuisanart, i thought this would be a quality product, but found it to be seriously lacking in the strength it needed to cut potatoes. yesterday the plastic frame broke while i was cutting sweet potato fries. it's not reparable..

I'm ashamed of Cuisinart for even producing this item. My potato got stuck halfway. I had to put my whole weight into getting it unstuck. I'm not surprised that the item broke on the first try for most others. When the potato finally came through from the other side - the fries were torn and unsightly. The second potato came out and flew out all over the floor and counter - guess I put so much effort that the fries flew! I'm returning it!!
