Product Description

Amazon.com Review

This deep, straight-sided, 3-1/2-quart sauté pan with its lid and helper handle is perfect for myriad cooking tasks on the stovetop or in the oven. Browning lots of chicken and then finishing the cooking under the lid is just one stovetop option. Braising a pot roast or lamb shanks are among the many oven options. (The pan is oven-safe to 500 degrees F.) Cuisinart's Everyday Stainless cookware has copper disks sandwiched within the stainless steel along the bottom of each pan. Copper is cookware's best heat conductor; it spreads heat rapidly and uniformly, preventing hot spots. Handles are welded and have no inside rivets to trap food, while lids are deep set for a tight fit. Polished to a mirror finish, Everyday Stainless begs to be displayed, and hanging holes in the handles make that possible. Though this pan is dishwasher-safe, hand washing preserves the finish better. Everyday Stainless carries a lifetime warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

5.0 out of 5 stars Great pans, December 22, 2002

This is an amazing pan for the price. I have some All-clad and Calphalon pans and I like this one just as much. It does everything the All-clad does for a fraction of the cost. It can go in the oven and does a good job of searing meats. I must say that the Calphalon commercial hard annodized does a better job at deglazing.

Some have said that these handles get too hot on the stove. I haven't noticed any unusual heat, but I use an electric range. I could see how the flame of a gas range may creep around the sides of the pan and heat the handles.

With the copper sandwich bottoms, these pans heat very evenly. These are very sturdy pans.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Value, February 4, 2003

This review is from: Cuisinart 933-24H Everyday Stainless 3-1/2-Quart Saute Pan with Lid and Helper Handle (Kitchen)
I am very impressed with this product. I purchased the 10-piece set with the free saute pan mainly because I wanted the saute pan. My experience with the Cuisinart Everyday line started with a pair of non-stick skillets. This line of kitchenware appears to be very well made. The saute pan is generous in size and has the weight necessary to distribute the heat evenly. The copper bottom ensures that heat is also distibuted quickly. The handle is long and comfortable, with a hole suitable for hanging (without the lid, as far as I can tell). The cuisinart line is backed by a lifetime warranty.

Pros: Great value (you can get 12 pieces for 60% of an all-clad saute pan), copper sandwich provides fast, uniform heating, stainless steel finish for good production of fond, metal handles make it suitable for oven use, solid construction and great all-around performance.

Cons: stainless steel interior prone to scratching with metal utensils, copper heats up very quickly and you have the tendency to burn/scorch things the first few times as you get used to the pans.

Note: some people have commented on hot handles. I have used these over high heat extensively and have not had any problems. I could see a problem if you use gas and allow the flame to come up the sides of the pan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great pan, January 9, 2003

I have a nice set of Cuisinart pans and this is my favorite piece out of my set. It is more functional than both my skillets and saucepans. It is deeper than a skillet, so no sloshing, and wider than a skillet at the base, I use it for French toast. I also love that it can go from the stovetop, to the oven without issue. My only warning is to be careful picking this pan up as it gets heavy since it is large and wide. The handle is long too, make sure you can grip the extra handle before lifting.
