This is an amazing pan for the price. I have some All-clad and Calphalon pans and I like this one just as much. It does everything the All-clad does for a fraction of the cost. It can go in the oven and does a good job of searing meats. I must say that the Calphalon commercial hard annodized does a better job at deglazing. Some have said that these handles get too hot on the stove. I haven't noticed any unusual heat, but I use an electric range. I could see how the flame of a gas range may creep around the sides of the pan and heat the handles. With the copper sandwich bottoms, these pans heat very evenly. These are very sturdy pans.

Great Value,

I am very impressed with this product. I purchased the 10-piece set with the free saute pan mainly because I wanted the saute pan. My experience with the Cuisinart Everyday line started with a pair of non-stick skillets. This line of kitchenware appears to be very well made. The saute pan is generous in size and has the weight necessary to distribute the heat evenly. The copper bottom ensures that heat is also distibuted quickly. The handle is long and comfortable, with a hole suitable for hanging (without the lid, as far as I can tell). The cuisinart line is backed by a lifetime warranty. Pros: Great value (you can get 12 pieces for 60% of an all-clad saute pan), copper sandwich provides fast, uniform heating, stainless steel finish for good production of fond, metal handles make it suitable for oven use, solid construction and great all-around performance. Cons: stainless steel interior prone to scratching with metal utensils, copper heats up very quickly and you have the tendency to burn/scorch things the first few times as you get used to the pans. Note: some people have commented on hot handles. I have used these over high heat extensively and have not had any problems. I could see a problem if you use gas and allow the flame to come up the sides of the pan.

Great pan,

I have a nice set of Cuisinart pans and this is my favorite piece out of my set. It is more functional than both my skillets and saucepans. It is deeper than a skillet, so no sloshing, and wider than a skillet at the base, I use it for French toast. I also love that it can go from the stovetop, to the oven without issue. My only warning is to be careful picking this pan up as it gets heavy since it is large and wide. The handle is long too, make sure you can grip the extra handle before lifting.

Cuisinart 3.5 qt saute pan,,,,,,Wow!, I love it!,

This review is from: Cuisinart 933-24H Everyday Stainless 3-1/2-Quart Saute Pan with Lid and Helper Handle (Kitchen)
I recently purchased this Cuisinart 3.5 quart saute pan with the 5 piece starter set. At the time, the set including this saute pan was offered at an unbelievably low price. Please understand that I am not a professional chef, and in fact have only used "inexpensive cookware" before this time. I wanted to try something better, as my experience using the cookware I owned was less than acceptable. I had reserched "All Clad" products, and found them to be way out of my price range. This saute pan is my favorite of the set to date. The size is just right when preparing one-pan meals for a family of four, as I do. I find that browning hamburger, and draning off the fat is a snap! The lid fits nicely, and there are no drips to burn when returning the pan to the burner, as the lip does not drip. The straight deep sides prevent splashes, therefore there is virtually no mess on the range top. Also, less heat is required when cooking. The pan heats wonderfully! I love the bright shiny outside finish of these pans. I even find myself polishing my fingerprints from the surface, as I hate to see the shine blemished. Some have reported that the handle gets too hot in use. I have an electric range, and I have not experienced that problem. To date, I have not used a potholder or towel. I have nothing bad to say about this saute pan. Quite simply, I love it. I would recommend it for the price alone, but in reality, I reach for this pan before any other I own.

This is the best pan I have ever owned, and I've owned quite a few, mostly the "non stick" type that scratch and get all yucky in a short period of time. I bought this pan because of the price and when I received it I was amazed at what a beautiful pan it is. It's very substantial and heavy, which some people may find to be a drawback, but with the helper handle it's very easy to move even when it's full. It is excellent for browning meat and cleans up very easily and still looks like new even though I use it more than any other pan I own. I highly recommend this pan and plan on buying more Cuisinart.

Before my purchase here, I already owned the larger size version of this Sauté Pan. Originally, I was skeptical that the copper bottom would be thick enough for optimal heat transfer. Well, after using the larger version and being very pleased with the results, I ordered the 3.5 qt. size and am also very pleased with it.Note that the lids are simple, no-fuss that seal very well. If you let the pan cool down with the lid on, you will have a vapor lock and not be able to remove the lid without reheating. Finally, they are really EVERYDAY cookware. I can use metal utensils and not worry about the interior. They come out of the dishwasher looking fabulous, as long as there is nothing stuck-on in the interior. And the sizes and proportions are perfect for real everyday cooking of supper for 4 or more. I also bought the large frying pan, so I have quite a set now, and the price/performance ratio can't be beat.

I have several Cuisinart stainless steel pots and pans and this one is going to be one of my favorites. It is just the right size for almost everything. I highly recommend this brand of cookware.

Did you know that you can boil water on low-heat with this pan? Keep the lid on. This just goes to show how amazing the heat transfer is. I've used this for about 2 months now and it's wonderful. At the same time, I've started cooking with cast-iron. Comparing the two, I have to say, for $30, I would have rather bought 2-3 pieces of cast iron cookware (search "Lodge" in Amazon, you'll find a wide variety of excellent cookware.)
Nonetheless, this saute' pan cooks wonderfully--I agree with every praise sung about this pan and there isn't much bad to say about it. You can cook anything you want--from a simple burger, to meats, soups, etc. Everything. But if I had know about cast-iron sooner I would have gone there. Sometimes it's nice to have both though, if you can manage that.

I bought this saute pan two years ago. It has not seen heavy use in that time. This evening as I heated the pan over the stove - preparing to sear a steak - I heard a strange pop. I picked up the pan and discovered that several layers of the "copper sandwich bottom" had completely separated from the pan. The pan is ruined. I will aviod Cuisinart's cookware and all "copper sandwich" construction pans in the future.

I have a growing collection of Cuisinart and Calphalon cookware that I buy on sales from Amazon, and which I am very pleased with. This Cuisinart saute pan is wonderful, heavy, heats evenly and cleans up easily. The foods cook uniformly in it and you have excellent control. A brief soaking in sudsy water and it practically wipes clean. Highly recommended!
