2.0 out of 5 stars It sticks
I like it for its heavy weight and professional look. But it does stick. The care instruction says not to use pan spray since it will discolor the pan and leave rubbery residues on the bakeware and eventually make it stick. Thus, even though my recipiet said "spray it", I didn't... and guess what.. my cake just didn't want to come out in one piece. However most of my cake...

I finally used these pans last night to bake a chocolate cake. But as I placed these 2 pans into my oven, I realized my oven wasn't big enough to let them sit side by side and I didn't have a second level in it. So after placing them in a funny angle just to make them fit, I told myself they are going to be so unevenly baked! But to my amazement, they didn't! They were probably the most evenly baked cakes that have ever come out of my oven! I am going to get them now in all shapes and sizes!

Received this today and absolutely loved it. It's a very good quality, heavy duty cake pan. Could kick myself for just ordering 1 pan for $4.99. Can't wait to use it.

I purchased 2 of these because the price was a steal. Can not find this type of quality name brand in a store for the price I got it for through Amazon.com.

This is a heavy duty pan and it works wonderful. The nonstick quality is awesome not like some off brands that after one use seems to chip even if you use the right soft utensils. I will always look for the Cuisinart brand for my other needs.

These are really nice, HEAVY pans. Even though they are non-stick, I still line them with parchment or wax paper.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice and deep, January 8, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Cuisinart AMB-9RCK Chef's Classic Nonstick Bakeware 9-Inch Round Cake Pan (Kitchen)
With my old cake pans I couldn't figure out why a recipe kept overflowing into the oven every time I made it. I measured the diameter of the pan at the top and it was the right size. After doing a little research I found that my pans were actually more shallow than the average pan, and that the base was slightly smaller than the top.

Cooks Illustrated's favorite cake pan, Chicago Metallic Commercial II Non-Stick 9-Inch Round Cake Pan, has 2-inch sides. I usually follow their recommendations but I couldn't pass up the good reviews and 4-for-3 offer with this pan. I've been completely happy with this pan and have no regrets.

The first thing you'll notice with this pan is the weight. It's a solid pan with thick metal all around. The non-stick coating is on the inside and outside, making cleanup a snap. I measured the depth of the pan at 1 3/4" and while that's shorter than the favorite's 2 inch depth I haven't experienced spillage with the recipe that caused my old pans (since recycled) to overflow. The sides on this pan are nice and straight as well.

This pan is dishwasher safe but it cleans up so easily I just wash them by hand. To protect the non-stick coating I store them nested with a paper towel in between them. I expect that with a little care these pans will last a long time.

I wanted to replace three of my old teflon coated cake pans, so I bought one of these to try it out. I liked it so much, I immediately ordered two more. They are excellent non-stick pans with a nice solid weight to them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Setting the record straight, September 5, 2011
This review is from: Cuisinart AMB-9RCK Chef's Classic Nonstick Bakeware 9-Inch Round Cake Pan (Kitchen)
I'm submitting this review to set the record straight about this product, because a few of the reviews here are based on a complete misunderstanding of the product's instructions.

You CAN use oil spray on this product! Here's the exact text from the product's instructions:

Prepping the pan: Prepare the pan according to recipe instructions. Grease and flour if directed. Although the surface of Classic Collection Non-Stick Aluminized Steel Bakeware is designed for easy release, following the recipe instructions always gives the best results. You may use spray oils with Classic Collection Non-Stick Aluminized Steel Bakeware. The special nonstick formula used in our bakeware makes spray oils easy to remove. (However, DO NOT use spray oils to cook in any Cuisinart cookware items. The nature and content of spray oils cause them to leave a gummy residue on cookware that is very difficult to remove completely and as a result, food may actually stick, even on nonstick cookware!)

So if you follow the instructions for using this pan, you will get excellent results, and your cake will release from the pan easily. In my case, it was unnecessary to loosen the cake from the pan with a butter knife, because the sides clearly had released from the pan.

We *can* fault the company for confusing its customers. By talking about a different product altogether (cookware items), they succeeded in making customers think they couldn't/shouldn't use grease or spray oils on this bakeware.

I like that this pan is thick and heavy, because it doesn't warp under high heat in the oven.

The inside of the pan is a light aluminum color, which doesn't mess up the baking temperature. Dark baking pans always bake the outside and underside of the baked good before the middle gets done, so you end up with burnt edges but an undercooked middle. That will not happen with this pan.

My cakes have a nice, light brown "crust" that's really easy to ice, with minimal chances of crumbs getting into the frosting. I wish all my other baking pans were like this!
