This Blender is a piece of Junk!!!!
Gail
It's loud, it leaks, the handle broke off and frankly it doesn't work very well.
Shanell
Yes, I should have returned it before the 90 day Costco policy expired.

We purchased this item for ourselves at Christmas. The blender and small food processor seem to work fine. The blender, however, leaks from the bottom of the blender jar every time we have tried to make a smoothie or milkshake. It makes quite a mess in the blender base as well as on the kitchen counter. Disappointing since this is the main use of a blender in our home. The rubber ring seems fine. I will be contacting Cuisinart about this problem.

I have had two of these in the space of six months. We eat a vegan-based diet so make a lot of our own foods (soups, hummus, cheese, nut butters and milks, etc.), and I use my blender just about every day. I purchased this blender from Costco and was thrilled with the combination processor and blender. We loved the look on our counter and weren't bothered by the sound (I guess I just expect blenders to be loud...didn't know there were quieter ones!).

However, within weeks the handle on the carafe cracked at the top. I thought this might have been my own error, as I had put it in the dishwasher *ONE* time. We decided to live with it and just treat it carefully, but within days, the entire handle cracked off. Thankfully this happened when the carafe was over a shelf and no major injuries occurred. Obviously, a blender this size without a useable handle is a waste of counter space, so I returned the broken blender for an identical machine.

This time, I was extremely careful to gently hand wash the carafe after each use. Still, within weeks, the handle cracked in the same spot. I returned it before it broke off entirely and bought a different machine.

Save yourself the hassle and just don't buy this one to begin with!

This product is nice looking but it lacks a lot. The very first negative thing I have to say about it is it's EXTREMELY loud. At first, I thought there was something wrong with it. It was so loud that I didn't want my toddler coming in to the kitchen when it was on and I even had to step back from it. Also, the design of the glass blender is square which made a mess when pouring into a narrow glass. I returned it to Cosco and bought a kitchenaid food processor for only 6 bucks more.

Don't even think about buying this blender/food processor!

I got mine at Costco and I had to take the kids away from the kitchen when my wife fired this thing up for the first time: It is extremely loud!

The high pitch sound is deafening and ear plugs to operate it are a must. It's like a 747-200 taking off right next to you.

I'm really surprised that the Underwriter Labs has approved this garbage.

I used the blender less than 20 times. It quit turning on. The design of the model requires you to press an on switch and then select the power setting. The unit began turning off in the middle of blending. Then it quit turning on all together. I was blending fruit smoothies. It's not an issue of overloading the unit. The unit blended ok when it worked, however the pitcher design does not pour well. The pitcher is square on top and the spout is on a straight edge, instead of the courner. It leaves a heavy trail down the outside of the pitcher every time you pour. The fluid stream comes out wider than the glass you are pouring into.

I just bought this model at Costco and... OMG...the motor base is deafening. It's so loud, my toddler son went into hysterics because he got scared. I just finished using it and I have an instant headache. It is honestly the loudest piece of machinery I have ever had in my kitchen and it sounds similar to a table saw.

I have to add, I've been a jet engine mechanic for 13 years and I'm acclimated to noise. This blender is off the scale from what decibels an appliance should be generating.

The processor blade didn't work very well cutting up a moist, meat-based dog treat. It kept leaving a large chunk and getting wedged between the blade post and the canister wall. I switched over to the processor plate using the grater and it worked much better. However, the motor stressed to handle the treats.

This will be returned the very next time I visit Costco.

I've had this combo blender and food processor for awhile until the food processor bowl and lid cracked. That I would say was because of over use and putting too much food in the feed tube (by someone else!) I kept the blender and used it for a few more years until I dropped the blender jar and broke it. I found it nearly impossible to locate the replacement parts even though I still had the instruction booklet. When I did locate the parts (it had been discontinued) they totaled $62 just to for the blender not to mention anything for the food processor. I don't remember how much I even paid for it but I'm pretty sure it isn't worth replacing the blender jar at that price! After reading the reviews that said it was loud I did remember that it was unusually loud even for a blender. I think I would have brought it again though since it's hard to find good quality blenders that last that long and it was a food processor (although a smaller one) with a blender for the price of one. Don't expect it to last a life time but for a decent amount of time. As for the loudness...you could turn on the dishwasher to drown it out. :)
