Chances are you are looking at this product because your PLASTIC blade housing has cracked on your $140 blender. Even the cheapest of blenders utilize stainless steel for this mechanism. Shame on Cuisinart for not recalling and redesigning this part to make it stronger. After purchasing, I called them directly, at the direction of the reseller when I inquired about a warranty for this replacement part. They said flatly that they don't warranty this part in any way. I am sure they know they have a problem and have decided not to fix it. Their decision will make people think twice about the perceived quality of Cuisinart for future purchases.

Do yourself a favor and have an extra one of these (with the gasket) handy, because one ice cube too many and these things self destruct. On my last one the plastic bottom piece that connects to the drive piece on the motor stripped itself and spun freely. Boo to Cuisinart for putting such a shoddy part on what otherwise would be a great blender.

I received this in just a few days. It was a perfect replacement for the "broken one," and works great. The problem with blenders (as most everyone knows), is that the glass jar breaks. So I bought one with a metal jar. Now the blade wears out. But that part was really my fault--evidently crushing frozen strawberries at the rate of about a pound a week for several years puts a lot of pressure on the blade clutches. If you see black plastic "stuff" on the blender casing after you do your smoothies, it's time to order one of these...

I had often noticed the blade wouldn't spin by hand, so I'd lubricated it with food-grade silicon. Then one day as I was mixing pudding, smoke started rolling out of the blender. It was this blade. It had gotten so hot that it melted the plastic and when it cooled, the shaft was forever stuck. There was actually melted plastic around the rubber clutch. In the future, instead of just oiling it, I'll disassemble the unit (being careful to not slice my fingers on the blade) clean the hole and shaft, then lubricate and assemble. I've had much cheaper blenders over the last 40 years and never had to do this with any other.

Great to be able to buy replacement parts to save costs on buying a new blender. Fits well.

We really use our blender several times daily. When the blade's plastic base fell apart, we were fortunate to find the perfect replacement at a fraction of the cost of a new blender.

Our Cuisinart blade broke after a 4 to 5 years, so we had to replace it. This fit our blender perfect and has worked fine. I was just disappointed that this piece broke in the first place. Every part of the blender feels solid and sturdy, but this appears to be the weak part of the blender.
