5.0 out of 5 stars Great Pot! Used all the time!
I bought this item about 6 months ago. I use it ALL THE TIME for curries, stews, soups, yogurt, etc. The enamel is in perfect condition, there is no sign of rust anywhere (despite leaving it in the sink on occasion). The real sign of a good product for me was when I put it in the oven to make yogurt. I turned the oven on (to broil no less) just get some heat in it with...

3.0 out of 5 stars Worked Great Until Porcelain Chipped
Loved using this pot until the porcelain started coming off the bottom while i was stirring a meat sauce with a wooden spoon. So far, my attempts to contact their customer service to resolve this have gone unanswered. There is no reason the porcelain should start cracking off the bottom of a well treated pot in only a few months...

2.0 out of 5 stars Look great, but porcelain chipped after few time use, February 18, 2011
I spotted Cuisinart cast iron pot at local TjMax store for half of the price on amazon. I grabbed a deal right away. Took the pot out of my car, I noticed a chip on the edge of the lid. Then couple days later, only used twice for making soup, another piece of porcelain fell off. I had to take it back to TjMax since I am not sure how long it will last. I love cast iron. My lodge cast iron frying pan ( plain cast iron, not enameled though) gave me great results for years. But this is my first enameled cast iron pot. a little disappointment. Maybe try another brand.

Pros:

Great color, looks beautiful on the table, cast iron pot heavy and sturdy.

Cons: chip too easily

2.0 out of 5 stars Rust! Poor Quality., March 30, 2011
This was purchased for me to encourage my growing love for cooking. I bought a Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 5-1/2-Quart Round French Oven, Red last year. Sadly this Cuisinart does not come close to the same quality of manufacture.

After a few weeks the lid of the Cuisinart pot started to rust and became immediately unusable! Now into only the 2nd month of regular use the bottom can be seen to be noticeably wearing away ): Please see my uploaded images at the top of this Amazon listing.

I don't expect this pot to last more than 6-9 months at the current rate of wear. I have been very happy with the cooking performance of enameled cast iron cookware, but from now on I will stick with the quality and Lifetime Warranty of Le Creuset.

Peace, Ben

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Pot! Used all the time!, April 18, 2011
I turned the oven on (to broil no less) just get some heat in it with the intention of turning it off 2 minutes later. I forgot to turn it off (major foul) and hours later found a huge mass of former dairy that now resembled a large plastic sponge completely stuck to the pot. After three days of soaking and not-so-dainty scrubbing and gouging, the pot is in perfect working order. In my opinion, if it could survive that torture, it's a pretty great product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Artisan bread, June 22, 2010

I bought this because I wanted a smaller cast iron pot to make artisan bread from the "My Bread" book which I purchased from Amazon. My Bread: The Revolutionary No-Work, No-Knead Method This pot took my boules to the next level in professional appearance - beautifully round with great height. I make bread 2-4 times a week and this pot has stood up for the several months I've used it. The cost was a little high, but I don't regret it and hope to buy a second one in the not to distant future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little dutch oven, December 13, 2011
I have used cast iron and enameled cast iron cookware since I started cooking over 45 years ago, so this review is based on a lot of experience. I purchased this pan from a Homegoods store about a year ago. I use it primarily to brown meat then finish it in the oven. I have also done lots of soups in this pot.

It is a nice weight for it's size (not overly thick and heavy), and the cover fits nicely. The handle is able to stand up to the oven (though I usually cook at low heat - about 325 degrees). I am careful with my enamel, and it has no chips (about 2 years ago I made the mistake of buying a Martha Stewart 7 quart model like this... it is riddled with chips, and about 1/3 of the bottom is bared to the cast iron). This pan seems to be of quite high quality. I wonder if those who report chipping have gotten defective pans?

5.0 out of 5 stars Great cast iron pot, May 8, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this pot because I thought I could use it to make no-knead bread, and because it was a lot cheaper than Le Creuset pots. It turned out to be too small to bake bread in, but it's a great pot for the stove or oven, quite the equal of the Le Creuset pots that I inherited from my mother-in-law.
