Worked Great Until Porcelain Chipped,
By ANTHONY D MAIO (BREWSTER, NY USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Cuisinart CI630-20CR Chef's Classic Enameled Cast Iron 3-Quart Round Covered Casserole, Cardinal Red (Kitchen)
Loved using this pot until the porcelain started coming off the bottom while i was stirring a meat sauce with a wooden spoon. So far, my attempts to contact their customer service to resolve this have gone unanswered. There is no reason the porcelain should start cracking off the bottom of a well treated pot in only a few months...

I spotted Cuisinart cast iron pot at local TjMax store for half of the price on amazon. I grabbed a deal right away. Took the pot out of my car, I noticed a chip on the edge of the lid. Then couple days later, only used twice for making soup, another piece of porcelain fell off. I had to take it back to TjMax since I am not sure how long it will last. I love cast iron. My lodge cast iron frying pan ( plain cast iron, not enameled though) gave me great results for years. But this is my first enameled cast iron pot. a little disappointment. Maybe try another brand.
Pros: Great color, looks beautiful on the table, cast iron pot heavy and sturdy. Cons: chip too easily

This was purchased for me to encourage my growing love for cooking. I bought a Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 5-1/2-Quart Round French Oven, Red last year. Sadly this Cuisinart does not come close to the same quality of manufacture.
After a few weeks the lid of the Cuisinart pot started to rust and became immediately unusable! Now into only the 2nd month of regular use the bottom can be seen to be noticeably wearing away ): Please see my uploaded images at the top of this Amazon listing. I don't expect this pot to last more than 6-9 months at the current rate of wear. I have been very happy with the cooking performance of enameled cast iron cookware, but from now on I will stick with the quality and Lifetime Warranty of Le Creuset. Peace, Ben 2115|RAOHBPM323C6V;2115|R14QRDYAMKDI01;2115|R13YJBWFXHRBC6;
