5.0 out of 5 stars Just what I've been searching for!, May 26, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Cuisinart CI755-30CR Chef's Classic Enameled Cast Iron 5-1/2-Quart Oval Covered Casserole, Cardinal Red (Kitchen)
I had been looking all over for the perfect French/Dutch Oven - then I found it HERE on Amazon! I didn't even know that Cuisinart made one until I found it here! AND for a fraction of the cost of what I WAS going to get (the Le Cruiset brand) I love this one and have used it at least once a week since it arrived! I love that you can braise the meat, right in the same pan (like they do on the cooking shows!) and pop it in the oven to slow cook - just like that! The clean up is so easy too! I was originally wanting a cobalt blue but now that I have the Cardinal Red - I LOVE IT! One of my best purchases at SUCH an awesome price! The 5 1/2 quart oval is perfect for doing pot roast for a family of 4-6 with plenty of room for carrots, onions and potatoes - my roasts have never tasted better! And with the Prime shipping, I got it shipped for FREE (and it's a heavy pot!!)

I recently purchased a new stove which has a center burner that is oval.

This is the perfect pot for that burner. It also does a wonderful job and

is every bit as good as that much more expensive french brand that my

friend has.

5.0 out of 5 stars FABULOUS!!!, January 22, 2012
This review is from: Cuisinart CI755-30CR Chef's Classic Enameled Cast Iron 5-1/2-Quart Oval Covered Casserole, Cardinal Red (Kitchen)
I picked up this same item at TJ Maxx about a month ago and I LOVE IT! Although I have tons of cast iron, I had been wanting and needing an enamel covered dutch oven for quite awhile. I can't say enough good about this one. It is holding up beautifully after getting heavy use and it cleans up so easily. It has definitely made my life in the kitchen easier. Don't pay the over-inflated prices for Le Creuset. This Cuisinart will do the exact same thing for a fraction of the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Oval Dutch Oven is a Keeper!, January 14, 2012
This review is from: Cuisinart CI755-30CR Chef's Classic Enameled Cast Iron 5-1/2-Quart Oval Covered Casserole, Cardinal Red (Kitchen)
This oval Dutch Oven is definitely a keeper. The first recipe we cooked in it was a classic ham and bean soup. The oval shape was handy when it came to accommodating the length of the ham bone. It also is a great match for the oblong burner on our stove-top. The enamel coating appears to be of very high quality with no visible flaws. The pot has a good "heft" to it, as a cast iron pot should. The only improvement I'd make to the pot is to the lid. I'd add a "self-basting" feature, like the Mario Batali Dutch Oven has, or the ridges that serve the same purpose on other high-end cast iron cookware. This is certainly a minor issue, however, and I would recommend this product to anyone.
