Very easy to use and clean.

Perhaps they pushed off-center the balance of the rotating basket/blade, which then rubbed against the plastic pedestal below?

Now all those horrible, healthy fruits and vegetables I know I'm supposed to eat, I will drink.

I purchased this juicer yesterday and have already enjoyed two glasses of great tasting fresh juice. I was looking for a small juicer that can stay on my counter top and not take up too much space, this does the trick. It is significantly smaller than the Breville Compact. The only other juicers that have this small of a footprint cost three to four times as much.
It is also very easy to clean by hand. I don't have a dishwasher, so that was important. It helps to add a little water when juicing greens like parsley or kale.
The juice produced is pulp-free and delicious. Highly recommended.

Cuisinart made a good sturdy product! The juicer is the perfect size, very easy to clean and is quiet. I downsized from my previous juicer due to its huge size and my lack of kitchen storage space.
I knew that it wasnt going to be top of the line due to its price tag, but I was still hopeful. The product is good, solid, quiet and compact.... however, it is not very good at juicing leafy greens (which is what I juice most of the time).

If you are looking for an attractive, small, functioning juicer to juice fruits and the occasional veggie this is perfect... however, I think I might have to send mine back because I fear Ill waste more money in produce in the long run. If you are a serious juicer and plan on getting your leafy greens in- you might want to reconsider before you purchase....

All of that being said, Im still pleased with Cuisinart and this is a nice little juicer... its just not for me.

***UPDATE***
I still love the look and how extremely easy this juicer is to use, but no matter how slow I feed the produce or how small I cut the pieces, this pulp stays extremely wet. There is quite a bit of waste with this juicer. Still good for non-serious juicers that make the occasional juice. 100% NOT FOR DIE HARD JUICERS or those that juice daily.

I have now had this juicer for a couple of weeks and I have to say I have been enjoying the benefits of creating a variety of juices. Additionally, this machine is very easy to clean. It takes me approximately half an hour total to make my juice and clean all the parts in the sink. My only critique is that if you are going to make enough juice for two it is better to use a measuring cup that fits underneath the spout as there is often a great deal of foam that fills the top portion of the 16oz container provided with the machine.

Well, it is pretty quiet, and makes juice out of just about anything. However, it doesn't make the most out of your fruits and veggies. The pulp is pretty wet and gets stuck to the top of the clear chamber rather than being pushed all the way to the pulp collector. As the fruit/veg gets to be very thin as you push down, the thin pieces are whipped out as waste rather than juiced. The juice cup is a bit difficult to clean, as it has sharp inside angles you can't get at easily. For the price though it's not a bad machine.

Update: after several days of use, the plastic filter housing began breaking down on the inner lip under the metal filter. As the metal filter would spin, it would melt/grind down the housing lip. Cuisinart is replacing my unit. Their customer service said they do not have replacement parts for this model, as it is too new. I hope this issue is specific to the unit I bought and not common in this model at large.

The third time I tried this juicer, large chunks of plastic from the filter housing unit ended up in my drink and when I took the machine apart, the entire housing had been shredded--and all I was juicing was peeled pineapple. I then saw that several other reviewers have had the same problem, but when I contacted Cuisinart, they indicated they could not replace the filter housing because they don't stock that part (a main part), but that if I paid for shipping, which they estimated at ten dollars, they'd replace it. Given that the problem is a serious one, of their own doing, and something several other reviewers have noted, I'm not paying a penny more nor am I going to invest the time to pack it and take it to the post office (I did offer to send a photo of the damaged part, but they still want me to ship the whole machine to them).

As other reviewers have noted, the size is ideal, it's great for fruit, but when it comes to greens, it's really poor. But for me the bottom line is if the plastic gets ground into my drink and the manufacturer expects me to shell out money to fix the problem, I don't want their product.

This is good starter juicer for those new to juicing or plan on being occasional juicers. I purchased this juicer based on the price (I had a $100 gift card) and the fact that it was compact. Our kitchen is small and it sits on the counter. We make juice about 2-3 times a week. You can easily prepare fruits and veggies, juice 'em and clean up in about 20 minutes. The motor is quiet as well. My previous experience with juicing was with my former house mate's Breville, which was noisier and a pain to clean. As others have noted, some of the pulp and skin, especially with apples, gets lodged in the upper clear chamber, instead of heading down to the pulp container. I've noticed you don't get much juice at all with leafy greens such as parsley and kale. I'm going to take one reviewer's suggestion and add a bit of water for leafy greens.

For fruits such as oranges and lemons, I remove most of the rind and cut them into halves or fourths so they don't jam the machine. I followed the advice of a friend who has a Omega juicer and took the pulp and ran it through the juicer again. This results in a little extra juice and drier pulp. I mix a little pulp (usually carrot or kale) back into the juice so we get a little fiber. This week I saved some carrot/kale pulp and used it in a chicken meatball recipe with delicious results. Try sneaking some in meatloaf or burgers instead of breadcrumbs! I am really enjoying our latest kitchen gadget, down to the last drop.
