Product Description

Amazon.com Review

This electronic appliance places 850 watts of toasting power at your fingertips while providing 21st-century flexibility. Its 1-3/4-inch-wide slot accommodates two slices of thick bread or two or three bagel or English muffin halves, and it's long enough (11 inches) to hold oversized homemade bread. The touch-control panel offers seven browning settings, from light to dark, and an electronic memory automatically sets browning at your previous preference unless you change it. Other buttons permit defrosting, reheating without browning, special timing for bagel toasting, and the cancellation of all settings. Also, to save energy and toasting time when only one slice is being toasted, there's a button that turns off half the toasting element. Other features include a slide-out crumb tray, cord storage, and a lever to lift short slices extra high. This handsome toaster, in gleaming plastic that stays cool to the touch, measures 15-1/2 by 7-1/2 by 5-3/4 inches. --Fred Brack

5.0 out of 5 stars Have had great results, June 26, 2001

I have had my Cuisinart for about 6 months and am very pleased with it. I usually toast one slice and have never had a toaster that does a good job of that, but this one does. If the bread is extremely fresh, you do have to lower the darkness level, but that's normal for any toaster. I like the layout of the controls, and the defrost option is good for toasting bread that's been in the freezer, without having to thaw it first. I like the appearance, too, but the main appeal is the consistently good results.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good toast, but ....., March 18, 2004

This review is from: Cuisinart CPT-60 2-Slice Electronic Toaster (Kitchen)
During 3 years of owning this toaster we had to get it replaced twice. Both times the knob for pushing down the toast broke. What an annoyance! However, when it was working, this toaster made very good toast, and warmed bagels just fine. It has a very nice appearance, and I must say the Cuisinart company was good about replacing their product. Now if they could just figure out a way to improve that knob .....

3.0 out of 5 stars Help me catch my flying toast, February 1, 2002

This review is from: Cuisinart CPT-60 2-Slice Electronic Toaster (Kitchen)
With the flying toast from my Cuisinart CPT-60 toaster, my life began to feel like an episode of I Love Lucy. When I looked for a control to adjust the spring, I discovered that it doesn't exist. I decided to give it time, maybe it just needed some breaking in. It's 2 years later and I'm happy to say, that finally, the toast stays put. I would have returned the toaster right away if it weren't for it's space saving design, superb bagel toasting ability and it's great looks. Oh yeah, it's easy to keep clean, too!
