you can't tell from the picture, but this product has a brown plastic coating over part of the hook which detracts aesthetically from our pot rack.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Real Thing, March 12, 2009
This review is from: Cuisinart CRUH-6 Chef's Classic Cookware Universal Pot Rack Hooks, Brushed Stainless, Set of 6 (Kitchen)
One of the great things about Amazon is the abundance of consumer product reviews. One of the poor things about Amazon is the frequent scant product descriptions. I place a lot of value on what the reviews state, which often add the missing details.

These are versatile hooks that can attach to a flat bar or wire style rack since the rack attachment end is tapered to an opening of 1/2 inch. The hook end opening is one inch. They are 5 inches in length. The product description does not state what the material is; it merely suggests stainless steel.
The ones I recently received are polished stainless steel and are 0.2" in diameter. The quality is excellent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Universal Pot Hooks, September 23, 2010

The Cuisinart Universal Pot Rack Hooks are a very well made product. I use them on a "wire" type rack (similar to the middle picture on the product link) and they fit nicely.

I also value good product descriptions, and find most lacking in detail. Customer reviews are often helpful in filling in these details. The following information would have been helpful to me:
Cuisinart Model # CRUH-6
#7 wire guage
Stainless Steel
5 inches in length
Pot hook end opening is 1 inch wide at top, 1 inch deep, 1/2 inch at bottom, 45 degree left twist
Hanger end opening is 1/2 inch at top, 1 3/4 inch deep and 1/4 inch at bottom
Both ends are finished with a round over

5.0 out of 5 stars Universal pot rack hooks, November 22, 2008

As advertised, these hooks can hang just about any pot , skillet or utensil. I purchased a chrome "bakers rack" and wanted to hang some pots and pans on it. These guys do a good job at that task, a ten inch cast iron skillet is no problem for one of these bad boys. The smaller hook fits just as easily over one of the thin rods in the shelf or thicker rod about the perimeter.

I first thought them to be pricey for just a bent metal rod.

5.0 out of 5 stars Even BETTER than the description!, September 12, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
When i pulled these out the box i was shocked because i was expecting some typical small hooks and these are SUPER GREAT! Heavy duty, nice and chunky and excellent craftsmanship! Non-skid material and i think it has a special coating so the paint won't chip off like the typical ones you find on the market. It also has rubber so they definitely stay in place!!!

I will be ordering another set so i can replace all the ones that came with my pot rack!

One thing i will mention just in-case someone might not like or have an issue with when they receive them (i thought it was brilliant) the top part kind of turns so that way you can put them on anything and whatever your hanging it keeps it extra straight. Its kind of difficult to describe.

I definitely recommend them and GUARANTEE you, you will NOT find a better product for the price you pay!! Bang for your buck!!

5.0 out of 5 stars hooks are thoughtfully angled, January 24, 2009

when you hang these hooks you will notice that the hook part is purposely angled at about a 30 degree angle, so when you hang stuff on the hooks, the stuff is angled too, and not knocking into and bumping against the other stuff on hooks, kind of like parking at an angle in order to maximize on limited real estate.

5.0 out of 5 stars Alternate use in Launch Pad (Rubbermaid Configurations), June 26, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Cuisinart CRUH-6 Chef's Classic Cookware Universal Pot Rack Hooks, Brushed Stainless, Set of 6 (Kitchen)
I bought these so I could add hooks to my Rubbermaid Configurations (satin nickel/titanium) Launch Pad (Flylady & Unclutterer concept). The slim part will fit over a single shelf's front edge but not an overlapped shelf (I think the Calphalon ones might be able to do that). With these I am able to hang backpacks, bags and even my jacket from the front of my Launch Pad, freeing up space behind those items so I can use and store stuff on the shelves below. I tried to use the regular sliding hangar bar on the Rubbermaid system, but it ate up space in the shelf under it. These hooks cause items to hang as low as if they were hung on the hangar bar and a hangar. They also look very clean on the shelves and don't look like a hack at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extra hooks for my pot rack, June 11, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Cuisinart CRUH-6 Chef's Classic Cookware Universal Pot Rack Hooks, Brushed Stainless, Set of 6 (Kitchen)
These hooks are heavy duty and work just fine on my wrought iron pot rack. I sweated hanging up more pots (from the ceiling yet) because of the weight, but Amazon has ran such great deals lately on pots that I treated myself to dishwasher safe pans. These hooks are definitely worth $7.99 on the 4 for 3 sale plus super saver shipping.

September 12, 2011 update: Well, the hooks have held up fine, but I actually did put too much weight on the pot rack by adding the hooks and additional pans, and some years ago, the rack fell down in the middle of the night, nearly scaring the h**l out of me. Moral: Be sure that your pot rack is screwed into the ceiling, on beams, and with mollies that are warranted to hold a prescribed amount of weight. My husband's bad.

These hooks worked perfectly for me! The tops are rubbered to prevent the hooks from scratching from my enclume which was a nice surprise - I'll be ordering more - they're a great addition to my kitchen!

Amazon.com. Within seconds, I found these. And wouldn't you know, I needed them to hang Cuisinart pots/pans! They were a little more heavy-duty than I expected, but at least I have them. Wish the price was lower.... but I guess it's better than the frustration of trying to shop
