If it had worked well before this happened, I'd have considered contacting Cuisinart for a replacement, but I don't want another one of these, so there's no point. And since I lost my receipt, I can't return it to the store I bought it from.
At the end of the video I show an incredibly cheap ($10) hand blender that I got at a local discount store. I'm not recommending that one either, but in several ways, it actually appears to be better than the Cuisinart.
Don't waste your money, do some research, and buy a different one than this.
It also cannot stand. The flimsy plastic housing for the blades has 3 little knobs on which this top-heavy blender is supposed to stand. This morning I stood it upright in its two-cup plastic container and it immediately fell over, splashing protein drink everywhere, which then ran under my coffee maker, my very heavy mixer and several cannisters. I am thankful I wasn't trying to blend hot soup on the stove.
If you aren't prepared to lay it on its side when not firmly holding it and the container its in, this blender may not be for you, either.
Save the blender for margaritas, this does almost everything else, but it's convenient and quick to clean!

I work in a restaurant and we have this hand blender at work. It's the worst piece of junk I have ever used and a poor excuse for a blender. Read morePublished 7 days ago by KiwiBird
I'm very disappointed with this item. Even the "high" setting provides very low and virtually useless power. Read morePublished 1 month ago by Robert D. Skuras
Only 4 stars because it does not come apart to clean. But fantastic buy for the money.Published 2 months ago by frequent customer
The work this item does is NOT the same as a counter-top blender. This item literally "BLENDS" or mixes ingredients together. Read morePublished 2 months ago by morbroth
I was so excited to get an immersion blender. I make lots of soups and sauces and couldn't wait to skip a couple steps and leave my blender in the cabinet. This thing stinks. Read morePublished 3 months ago by Stephanie Kotas
We love this. We used to it make hummus and then we had and baby and used it to make all of her baby purees. Great product at a very reasonable price.Published 4 months ago by Ashley Curtis
