It takes almost a minute to get the temperature and even after that it reads twenty five degrees low. I did a comparison with my wife's oven thermometer and my old grill thermometer in a microwaved glass of water, Cuisnart was 25 degrees lower than the other thermometers. I ruined quite a few steaks trying to get used to this device, I gave up and just use it to turn the steaks over now. Not worth the money.

I expected a food thermometer to be great since it is Cuisinart, however, it takes a long time to register the food temp when you're cooking steaks. By the time it reads what it is supposed to be according to the button you push, such as medium rare, it is already past the point you want it cooked.

This is a nicely made thermometer fork, and I like how you can remove the tines for washing. Unfortunately it doesn't work very well: it takes a really long time to read the proper temperature. I've left it in for nearly twenty seconds and it still hasn't stabilized, whereas my backup probe type food thermometer gives me the proper temperature in under five seconds. If you can't get the right temperature quickly it kind of defeats the purpose of using it.

I've only used this a handful of times so far, and my initial comments are: (1) temperatures are off, when it registers 115 degrees, the beef is rare and heading toward medium (ignore the idiotic instructions that peg "rare" well into into the "medium/it's gray" zone, and (2) it takes a full minute to get a temperature reading.

The temp reading takes much too long, the settings are hard to figure out without a manual, and, Cuisinart does not have a manual online. What does that tell you? Maybe that is why it is on sale!
Like to return it but threw the container away to soon.

Having bought some other Cuisinart grilling products, I wanted to try the temp fork. I was very happy with the Cuisinart all foods gas grill, so I bought this digital temp fork. Tested it with chicken and steak. Both worked well. I liked the timer function. Also the audible alarm when the food was done. When I was finished, the fork portion released so I could just pop it in the dishwasher. That feature was very cool. WOuld recommend this product!

I bought a Cuisinart gas grill and this digital temp fork a few weeks ago. I was a bit skeptical about the accuracy of digital temp forks. However, I was very pleased with this product. I cooked chicken, pork, and steak, and was able to determine the doneness with this fork, without having to cut the meat open with a knife and let the juices run out. Very happy with this product. When I was done, I popped of the fork portion, and threw it in the dish washer. Too easy. What a great idea, and another great product from Cuisinart.

My husband says "good!" He's used it several times for grilling, and loves how well it gages how done our meat is! No more over cooked steaks! Good buy!

I bought this as a gift for my son, who had just gotten a new grill, and he loves it!
