Shape: Pasta Server Verified Purchase
I was pleasantly surprised by how beautifully this pasta server is shaped when I pulled it out of the box. I chose this one because it is all stainless steel. I didn't want another plastic pasta server like we had before with the tines breaking off. This one is a nice weight and excellent quality. This serves our spaghetti and angel hair very well. The wide bowl shape allows me to use it as a slotted spoon in a pinch and would also work with other pasta shapes such as shells or macaroni.

Shape: 7-Piece Set Verified Purchase
I purchased the entire set when they were a lightning deal special. They are indeed big and beautiful. Their length is about 14.5" and the handles at the widest point are about 1" in diameter. The skimmer is about 4" across and about a half inch deep. The bowls of the spoons are about 3" across. Their average weight runs about 4.5-6.5 oz. For example the ladle weighs about 5 oz. This should give you a good idea of how large they are. The finish is highly polished stainless steel. Even the edges of the spoons and spatulas are smooth and nicely finished.

These tools are much larger than the average kitchen utensils and stick out over the edges of my pots more than I am used to. They could probably be used in a commercially equipped kitchen. That said, I really like them. The handles are hollow and stay cool even in a boiling pot. Cleanup is a breeze. The skimmer is a jewel of a tool, much nicer than my old woven mesh spider.

The only downside to these excellent quaility tools is the amount of room they take up in my kitchen drawer.

Shape: Solid Turner Verified Purchase
I stopped at the local Bed Bath and Beyond and checked out what they had (surely, I don't need to order a turner from amazon). Well, they had Calphalon and they had Oxo. The Calphalon had a very very uncomfortable tang. The Oxo was only available with slots.

So I turned to amazon and order this one. Stiff, steel, no slots, easy to clean, pleasant to use, appropriately sized. Win.

Shape: Slotted Turner Verified Purchase
My mom was looking for the right metal turner so I ordered quite a few from Amazon for her to check out. The problem with Amazon is it offers so many products and not every product has a detailed enough description, e.g. length, weight, etc. Since I have done the legwork already, I might as well share the details with other potential buyers. For this turner:

Overall handle length: 11.0"
Length of shovel: 3.75"
Width of shovel (widest part): 3.0"

Weight: 4.6 oz (I would describe it as "well made but slightly light weight")
Comfort of grip: 5/5

I almost kept this one, but decided to pay up and get the VERTI instead, which is extremely well made.

I finally decided to get the followings:
Lower price point -
Economy Stainless Steel Buffet Turner
Economy Stainless Steel Buffet Turner, Slotted
by sturdy collection

Higher price point -
VERTI Stainless Steel Kitchen Utensil - Asian Turner / Stainless Steel Spatula with Ergonomic Handle
VERTI Kitchen Utensil - Stainless Steel Slotted Turner / Slotted Spatula with Ergonomic Handle
by Métier

Hope this helps!

Shape: Ladle Verified Purchase
Earlier, I bought a turner from this set and found a quality to be good. The ladle is of the same good quality (no ridges, imperfections, smooth surface -- unlike some others also to be found on amazon.com) and good design. The kicker is that its capacity is only 3oz, not 5oz like description (in the "Dimensions" section) may lead one to believe.

Shape: Slotted Spoon
New favorite spoon! always using a big slotted spoon to cook with, draining burger meat and such, have a couple plastic ones which I hate and refuse to use, have one old metal cheapo from who knows where that has about half the coating gone off of it, so time for me to upgrade. Fretted over which to try, the Cuisinart name meant quality so I had to go with that first, design and size was next, which is impossible to tell from the picture, so I took a chance and got lucky, very happy, it is a very useful spoon and I use one a lot to cook with, its perfect size, got a good grip, perfect length for control, the cup ness of the spoon is deep enough to contain lots of food,, got a sharp enough edge to rake the grub up with. if your serious about your big spoon this is a good one I am very happy with it

Shape: Skimmer Verified Purchase
Your how-to-poach-an-egg blues are over! Just place water in a skillet (or saucepan but skillet is better), turn up the heat, and once the water is warm, crack open 1 or more eggs into a bowl, remove any shell fragments, then slide the eggs from boil into water in the skillet. The eggs seem to poach themselves - no vinegar needed, no salt, no trimming of excess whites - because with this skimmer ("slotted") spoon, you can easily scoop out of the water and plate them easily.

Not just for poached eggs of course - versatile for other cooking uses. Just the right size at the delivery end, and the handle-to-spoon weighting ratio makes it easy to use. And it looks like it'll last forever. Recommend.

I don't know how they manufactured this unit but it looks like it was plated. There are some places where the stainless did not cover the material underneath. I will not use this utensil for fear of the exposed material may be unhealthy.
