I used this about 3-4 times and it worked alright.

So, in effect, Cuisinart isn't backing their item whatsoever...ugh!!

This handle is solid plastic, which is obviously prone to breakage.

I bought this a few weeks ago because it had a simple design and the bottom wasn't curved (I noticed all the pretty kettles with curved bottoms had people complaining that the handle got hot, and all the highly rated kettles had flat bottoms). The handle does get quite warm on this if you have the flame on high and the kettle is full (i.e. heating for a while), but not hot enough to burn me. The whistle is not too loud which might be bad for some folks, but I actually prefer a quieter whistle. The button to open the spout is in a good spot and easy to use. All in all, good kettle. No problems yet, been using it a lot.

I used this about 3-4 times and it worked alright. The metal is pretty thin and it feels flimsy, but it got the job done. You definitely need a potholder to take it off the stove, the handle gets far too hot.

Finally, I just noticed that the plastic around the whistle is melting each time it heats up. This isn't because I've left it whistling for minutes on end. I'm usually pretty good at taking it off the stove quickly. Still, the plastic is all melty and deformed now.

Do yourself a favor and pay a few more bucks on something that's a bit higher quality.

Got one broken in the box, so Amazon sent another, also with a broken handle. Finally gave up and got a much nicer OXO. Not worth the headache, just splurge a little and get a nicer one.

I am very pleased with this stainless steel tea kettle. Everything about it I like. The handle is very sturdy, does not get hot, operates well, and the whistle is loud. It is made of a heavy gauge satin finish stainless steel so it won't get dents easily and won't get scratched or show fingerprints, etc. I just love the size, too. If you don't require one of those large 3 quart size tea kettles, you should seriously look into buying this one. 5 Stars all the way.

We like this tea kettle. It heats up fast and the whistle sounds veryCuisinart CTK-SS1 Swoop Tea Kettle, Stainless Steel nice. I thought it would be a litte bigger, however, the size is fine.

I loved this kettle, then the handle broke where the button opens the spout. I had treated it very well & always handwashed. I probably made tea with it once or twice a month since I purchased it in 2011. I spent a little more for the Cuisinart name thinking it would last forever. I contacted the company & they said they would replace it but I had to pay to ship my old one back, then pay shipping to get the new one - that would have put me well beyond my original purchase price. So, in effect, Cuisinart isn't backing their item whatsoever...ugh!! I will not buy another cuisinart product.

Does its job quite well for a cheap price. The hard fixed handle makes it somewhat annoying to get to the opening hatch though.
