I bought this one to replace a well-worn Black & Decker countertop oven that had given many years of fine service. This one provides all of the quality of the B&D and more. It's very well designed and constructed, the controls easy to use, the bright blue digital display is easy to see and tells you what you want to know, and the shelving options are very convenient. You can even get a 12-inch round pizza pan inside with room to spare.

The Cuisinart comes with a reversible shelf, a rectangular baking pan, a broiler rack (fits in the pan), and a removable tray at the bottom for catching whatever escapes from the pan or rack. Makes cleanup, when needed, very easy.

The oven has a wide heat range, 150-450 degrees F, allowing for anything from gentle warming to serious roasting. We always use the convection mode except for broiling, and the results with everything tried so far have been excellent. The timer lets you know when the operating temperature has been reached and the cooking time is done.

The digital control panel may seem a little confusing at first, despite the clear labeling. Just keep the one-page Quick Start Guide handy until you get it memorized.

Bottom line: I'd buy it again.

Good quality, bakes uniformly, heat up quickly;
Great for baking small dishes, mostly convenient for frozen ready-to-bake food; Save time and energy.

Timer has this weird function that it starts at 10min, and can only go up. So if you want to bake something for 4 min, you would have to keep pushing the timer min button until it reaches max 2hrs and then go back to 1 min. Now, here is a tip, push hr button 3 times (or is it 2 times?) first which sets the timer back to 1min. There are 2 + and - buttons, but you can only use it for setting temp, not timer. Where did they find the software engineer who did the coding?

Here is a secret: some big warehouse club sells this one for much less.

This toaster oven is super convenient if you want to cook something at 300 degrees for 10 minutes. Otherwise, the user interface is so poor you’ll need a manual to get the job done. For instance, if you wanted to cook an item for less than 10 minutes, here’s what you must do each time (I’m not making this up - this is actually verbatim what is written in the manual):

Manual: You must use the Hour button to set the Timer back to the minimum setting of 1 minute (0:01); press and hold the Hour button until you reach 2 hours and then press it again to display 1 minute. Then use the Min button to increase the time from the 1 minute setting. The “+” and “-“ button is not used to set the Timer. You must use the Hour and Min buttons.

Setting the temperature is clumsy but not as bad. You just need to know to hit Bake BEFORE hitting Temp and then hit the + and - keys and then hit Timer and follow steps above with the Hour and Min buttons (don’t use “+” or “-“). Also, do it relatively quickly or things will time out.

The oven has some other oddities. For some reason when it gets to the proper temperature it beeps. Five times. Loudly and slowly. This is the same as when it’s done cooking something so it’s easy to get faked out into thinking your food is ready when in fact the oven is just announcing an interim milestone.

That said, the cooking unit looks nice and cooks well. Once you learn it’s secrets you’ll be fine. And your guests will get by surprisingly well just limiting themselves to heating their food for 10 minutes at 300 degrees.

I really like this toaster oven - makes great toast in 2 to 3 minutes. My other toaster oven (Cuisinart) was useless for toast - only toasted one side and took forever. After getting this one I think the other one never worked right from the start and that's why one sided toast, and cakes, pizza, not cooked in middle. Fortunately it quit working and when I got this one - a whole new world.

I have had many other toaster ovens and this one works great. I use it to cook chicken, pork chops, and pizza all the time and it is wonderful.

I wish I had purchased this sooner. I love the fact that I can cook without heating-up the huge oven!

We've had this oven for about a month now.

We purchased ours at Costco for $99. The first one had issues with the control panel. The panel wasn't properly centered with the buttons so it was difficult to operate. Knowing that it shouldn't be that difficult (and having had a similar issue with our freestanding stove) we exchanged it for another unit. The second oven works perfectly.

I did some research, and the reason we chose this oven is partly due to good reviews, and partly because we've had very good luck with Cuisinart appliances (we've owned two food processors, the ice cream maker, and a toaster, the latter which is roughly ten years old and just now giving out). We are often in need of a second oven, and during the summer months this one doesn't heat the house up like a large oven does. It takes up little space, and looks very nice and unobtrusive sitting on the counter.

We've made several casseroles using the regular baking cycle and the convection. The convection probably gives a better overall result just because of how the cycle operates.

The toasting option is fabulous. We've had nothing but perfect results. And there's a light/dark setting that offers a good variance of toasting options.

One reviewer mentioned that the oven has 'oddities', such as beeping when the selected temperature is reached. Most ovens do. My regular oven does that. I've never had an oven that doesn't, so I don't find that odd at all. When it reaches the desired temperature you know it's time to slide the food in for baking. This unit also beeps when the food is finished, but if you haven't used the preset to choose your own time and temperature, what you're cooking may not be done to your satisfaction.
