I have had this knife set for 23 months. In the first month, the tip of the large chef knife snapped off while I was slicing an onion. It was not being twisted at all, just being used to make straight slices. A few weeks later, the small paring knife broke in half when it was accidentally dropped from about a foot down to the formica countertop. Three months later, I discovered that the tip of the small chef knife was snapped off. It was lying flat in a knife tray in the top rack of my dishwasher, so nothing impacted it and I can only assume the hot water had something to do with it. A month ago the tip of the special santoku knife also broke off while I was slicing tomatoes. The only knives in this set that have held up are the steak knives and the shears, which are decent. The knife sharpener was never worth anything. I'm not sure why all these knives have broken. I've never had a knife break on me before owning this set. Would not recommend. They look nice, and that is about it. Disappointed in the quality for the price I paid. The handles are very light in the hand, as well. Would have preferred some heavier, sturdier knives.
