I soon realized the problem was not with the way I poured nor with the spout, but rather the coffee was leaking from the joint between the stainless steel and the black plastic closure above the stainless steel.
I lived with this problem for years until I decided to either buy a new coffeemaker or a replacement carafe. I opted for the latter. Big mistake.
I bought a replacement carafe from Amazon, and within days, I had a new carafe...which leaked the first time I used it. I contacted Cuisinart and was told that they had never heard of such a problem, that no one had ever complained to them about such a problem, and to ask Amazon to replace it. They did, graciously.
I am now using the third carafe...and after one week, it leaks! I dare not go back to Amazon at this stage...or should I? The solution is to buy another coffeemaker, and not a Cuisinart, however I have just spent good money for a replacement and I guess I will have to live with it for a while.
I just don't get it. I thought that the problem with the original pot would have been fixed for the replacement pots.
So much for the Cuisinart name.
These have a stainless body and a plastic rim/handle/spout. After just a couple months, when pouring liquid both leak from where the plastic joins the stainless body. Not sure how I could fix it either, since any kind of glue or sealant would get into the hot liquid. Too bad, they were pretty good until that started happening. Now the only way to use them is to pour over the sink, and have a towel ready to wipe the carafe. Not good. I wouldn't recommend.
I haven't had these very long but great so far. I have no problems pouring without spilling, in fact it forms a very controllable stream with no leakage from between the plastic rim and the steel body.
I bought this to use in a camper to make tea for one and it works fine for that. It replaces a glass one that had broken. The stainless is easy to clean and I won't be picking pieces of glass out of the carpet any more. (I can be a little uncoordinated first thing in the morning).
The plastic rim does form an inside lip that keeps some of the liquid inside no matter how it is tilted. I suppose this would be irritating for coffee drinkers but it works to my advantage with tea. There are always some tea particles in the last bit of tea and this keeps them from making their way into my cup.
I like it so much I bought two and use one in the kitchen also.
from pouring out the coffee.
It is like using a brand new product!

Coffee stain in the pot if not wash after making coffee.
After wash the pot and turn it over to dry, few drop of water always remain in the edge of the pot.
Bought this to replace the carafe that came with the Cuisinart. There is not much to say about this - it's the exact same thing as before, but the cracked rim on the original made... Read morePublished 9 months ago by mkupmvn
