Perfect when cooking for one/two or preparing small batches of ingredients for larger meals. I got this as a recommendation for making foods that don't really blend well and are traditionally ground using a mortar & pestle. Since I'm single, I typically cook for one or perhaps for myself and one guest so the size is exactly right for me. I've been using it to expand my Middle Eastern cooking menu. Home made, fresh hummus seasoned with homemade tahini (sesame seed paste) is a new favorite that I'd not be making without my little Cuisinart. So tasty, so quick, so inexpensive and so easy with this little gem. My only question is, "why did I wait so long to get one?"

very efficient , love the shredder blade. Took a minute to figure out the basket snaps on from right to left.

Compared to other Food Processors this is one of the smalles ones that I have seen. Which is perfect as it does not take up much space. Having been recently married we received numerous appliances and gadgets and space in our kitchen is at a premium. As it is just the 2 of us the 3 cup is the perfect size and is easy to assemble and clean. The blade has cut thru everything that we have thrown its way. It makes a nice puree and after numerous uses we have not had any problems.

I can not imagine that imagine that you would benefit by spending more on a larger size. The 3 cup does a great job and is compact which makes it easy to store.

The stores have the same machine, but without the salad shooter, so I'd have to keep emptying the bowl.
The shooter makes simple work of even a large job.
My favorite thing so far is grating potatoes and carrots, then hand slicing peppers and onions, mix in an egg, a bit of rice flour, then making patties and cooking them in a frypan with a bit of EVOO. Here you can get 6 patties with a single potato and carrot! It is similar to the things you get at MM for a buck each, but this one is so healthy with the carrots (high in vitamin A) and potatoes (super high in potassium).
I also make a carrot salad, just grate the carrot, add raisins, then top with vanilla yogurt. Next I have to figure out a recipe for my own veggie burgers. Do not like the ones in the store.
About 15 years ago, I sold this machine in Lechmere's in Boston for $100, and even for that it is well worth it. For half which you can get it on Amazon, it is a steal!

I have a full size food processor that I use for the big jobs, but I pull this little guy out at least weekly. Convenient for shredding a block of cheese for a pizza, cutting veggies, small sauce puree, mixing butter/flour for crusts or crumbles. You have to get everything screwed on just right or the blades will not turn, which I appreciate having a small child who always wants to help out. One star off because I find it a pain to disassemble/clean when I'm done, and carrots or other bright colored veggies can stain the white plastic unless you are cleaning it immediately. But on the whole it is a very useful little helper!

I think I must have a Cuisinart food processor fetish of some sort. I have six of them, spread out in 2 homes and a third one with wheels and an engine. I am partial to this 3-cup variety, useful and effective for so many things in the preparation of food in the home kitchen, when the job does not justify using one of its big brothers (or sisters, ladies). A batch of bread dough using 1 cup of flour makes two very nice hamburger buns in it, or a 14" pizza, takes about 1 minute to make. Let the dough rise in a PAMd plastic bag on the counter - no muss, no fuss - kneading not needed. Just shape it and bake.

My 7 qt. 30 year old cuisinart needed a new bowl. I decided that it was more economical to buy this small one that I could use every day rather than pay approx. $30.00 plus shipping for a replacement bowl. I used it last night to make stir fry and loved it. I had been doing things by hand since my old one was too large for empty nesters. I am thrilled cuisinart has such a small compact processor that does it all. I wish I knew about it a long time ago.. I am also very pleased with Amazon's price & service.

Be aware that this is only a 3 cup food processor. That was all I wanted and that is what I received. It is very easy to use and cleans up extremely easily. So far, all is good.
I'm sorry to report that having used this machine for about a year, it suddenly stopped working. I suspect the motor burned out I used it once or twice a month, not very heavily. I loved it when it worked but I'm disappointed that it broke so soon. I hope other don't share my experience. In other words, I hope I'm a glitch.

This Cuisinart is a great little buy. It does pretty much all I want it to do (altho I miss the dough "blade") in a small amount of room. We have a small kitchen and it fits quite nicely. It is SO much lighter than the 11 cup one I had previously (duh), so I am comfortable using it more often. I was a little surprised at how much it spews when I use the chute. It almost needs a special container to catch it. Still working on that.
