works for years, but don't overload it!!!,

I have been using this blade for years, but finally I destroyed it by overloading it with cabbage. What happened was, I turned it off during a chopping session with a load of cabbage. Accidentally, I spazzed and turned it back on with the cabbage still in the chute. The forces on the inside of the plastic drive shaft were too great at startup, and cracked the shaft open. That's why I'm looking to replace this item after many years of faithful use. Also, I've been able to use the broken part by taping the shaft together in the meantime. $27.50 seems outrageous to me, so I'm looking into other solutions.
